It's either that or a cold tub. I would probably go with cold tub, which helps your muscles recover after a workout and manages soreness. I could definitely see her taking an ice cold bath to relax.

Seriously now I get why his mom made the kids write book reports. I am trying to get people to watch his speech, and then write their response to it because the ignorance is astounding on this guy and people need to learn more, just like Dr. Ben always says.

All the neuroscientific researchers I've looked into all share intellectual curiosity, creativity, logical minds etc. "The Brain" is interesting to Smart People because there is so much to learn about it. He's the opposite of "ignorant of how much he doesn't know" because he was always learning as a kid with books and now writes his own books while teaching kids the value of education.

People are just saying he's stupid, I'm crazy, and refusing to watch a video of him speaking for himself before they make a judgement which is what True Ignorance is. Uninformed, arrogant and hypocritical. Aka Liberal Logic

Ben Carson is a rock star to the home-schooled Christian set, and the shinny new object for people who think Trump is too much of a dick, but really hate the establishment GOP.

I think the poll is legit, and we're going to see Trump slip some, but if I were the GOP I'd hold off on the celebrations...

quote:

While Carson may have moved to the top of the pack, Trump's supporters are more firm in their candidate choice than Carson's. More than half of Trump voters say their minds are made up about which candidate to back, compared to 19 percent who are currently backing Carson.

I suspect Trump really does have a pretty hardcore group of supporters, and even more so in states he's been on the stump.

The other interesting thing from the CBS/NYT poll:

quote:

Paying Attention to the Campaign

Forty-three percent of registered voters are now paying a lot of attention to the campaign - similar to earlier this month - but up from 36 percent in September. More are paying a lot of attention now, compared to this point in time in the last two presidential election cycles.

The argument that "no one is paying attention" needs to be dropped. Just judging from the debate ratings it's obvious that things are different this time.

Little bit of truth, whole load of lies, building a counterfactual narrative contrary to reality and repeated over and over and over unopposed and unquestioned. Propaganda. This is what Russian media does nonstop so they believe America shot down the airliner and that there are No Russian Soldiers in Crimea, etc.

The amount of political capital required to get something like that done would be insane because of the FYGMism involved. I live in a suburb adjacent to Philadelphia, a city with some decent public schools and ALOT of bad ones. My municipalities schools are pretty decent and we pay a good amount for it. Philly's school taxes are about half of ours and the consensus among suburbanites seems to be "well you get what you pay for". I can't imagine a scenario where my suburban neighbors would be willing to either give up significant funding so some of the money could flow into Philadelphia, OR pay a (much) higher rate that would bring all the schools in the state up to a funding level comparable to ours.

And I'm only in a moderately well-off municipality, their are districts on the main line (where all the old money lives) and in Bucks county that pay twice what I do in school taxes and their tantrum would make ours pale in comparison.

Yeah it'd probably be a hard sell to H-towners to help pay for Philly schools, and that's not even touching letting any of that sweet tax money flow west into dreaded Penntucky. Statewide education funding wouldn't stand a chance despite being a good idea.

As I mentioned before: this is why New Jersey only got it (enforced transfer of property tax funding for schools to poorer districts from richer districts) through a set of State Supreme Court rulings that would require major constitutional amendments to tear down.

Looks like Vermont also got it from a state supreme court ruling. In Vermont it was the 1997 ruling Brigham v. State that mandated the change. For New Jersey it was the so-called "Abbott Cases" in 1981, 1990, 1994, 1997, and 1998 that started the process in the 80s and refined it over time. The courts continue to monitor the progress of implementation in further cases

I don't think that's true, since the entire crux of the argument is that so much money goes into wealthy suburban communities (who have high home values and higher taxes) and less in to urban poorer ones. If nothing else, I can speak from personal experience that the home I lived in when I lived in the city had much lower property tax rates then the one I currently own in the suburbs.
