So I just found her a new home with a nice dude at a retirement community who spoils the hell out of her with gourmet ham. I intentionally stopped asking for updates on her a few years ago since as time goes on, it'll be more and more likely that there's bad news, but as long as I hear nothing, I can pretend she's alive forever.

I'm sorry to say that Hjalmar didn't make it. After examining the xrays the vet said his lower jaw was completely shattered, so he was put down. I can't imagine the pain he must have felt. Vet and colleagues thought the damage was from a being shot. People suck. Atleast he had a good last day with pets, food and blankets. Sister said he didn't mind the car trip and that he was friendly and purring at the vet. Cats are better people than people.
