Hulk Smash! posted:Marauder She Wrote was always the best guild name. Pretty sure you can break him of that habit if you actually tell him to grow a pair and start acting like a human being instead of a robotic parody of a military gentleman circa the 1800's. It's really kind of your fault if you romance the starchy rear end in a top hat and don't point out that you won't force choke him for using a name other than "my lord". Doesn't really help his space racism though. I forget how, but there's a way to get him amazingly pissed off at Vette being another horribly written/obnoxious rear end in a top hat of a character. To the point where she'll push him so far that he'll venomously refer to her as an alien in that same sort of tone that a Tea Party type might have when talking about immigrants or the government. Really, they seemed to be building him up to be that moff that inevitably gets force choked by Vader for saying the wrong thing. Then that got scratched because we can't kill companions. Edit: To be clear, i'm actually pro Quinn though. Every good Star Wars villain needs the expendable military leader type that gets killed by his own arrogance or a fluke. See: Almost every moff from the original movies. Archonex fucked around with this message at 22:25 on Oct 29, 2015 |

I read about merc healing, because I'm definitely sticking to my merc as my main (definitely this time, no chance i'm changing my mind again) and just want to make sure I understand the basics right, since the dulfy guide is slightly more advanced than my current level of comprehension. Seems like it's basically: 1) Keep Kolto shell up on everyone if you can do it without hurting your healing 2) For single targets, cast healing scan on cooldown, use rapid scan when healing scan isn't available, use kolto shot if you're overheating 3) For multiple targets, use progressive scan & kolto missile 4) Use supercharged gas when it's up and you're sure you're actually going to be healing poo poo for the next 10 seconds straight (the guide had much more to say about this but I didn't understand it so this is my "healing 4 casuals" take on it) 5) Use emergency scan for a quick boost if someone's getting too low Is any of that terribly off-base for story mode content? I never really healed past level 20-something on my merc, and that was years ago, so I'm jumping into the deep end.

Pretty much. Kolto shot always being spammed. Remember rapid scan lowers the heat of healing scan, and rapid scan adds a buff to your target so they get 5% more healing.

I just wish male togruta PCs would have montrals that were similar in length to female togruta. NPC male togruta still have the longer montrals and I like the look more. WAAAAAH. I think I made mine look ok. But my tops montrals are always offscreen because I'm loving huge.

You can buy companion gifts with them - on fleet you can get purple grade 5 ones, or if you fly to Odessan you can get the grade 6 legendary ones.

Whats the story mode of this like, is a lot of it shared? Is there divergent plot, or is it more like a telltale game where it's the same plot, but character's reactions are different. Or is that also the same? How does it compare to say... ME3 or KotoR2?

Better, worse. Each character has a unique plot up to level 50, which has a limited amount of character choice- some classes are basically on rails with the choice of being angry about things or not, others like the Agent have reasonably branching storylines. Past 50 it's mostly shared although there's a fair amount of diversity depending on faction and a little bit of class choice.

Makeb is wholly different for Republic/Empire, but the rest of the post-50 content as far as I can recall is the same for both sides, with the exception that you have satele shan/saresh talking in your ear instead of Darth Marr. I haven't touched my pub characters since KOTFE since it's all even more similar now that the plot put the empire/republic war even further on the backburner.

On the other hand the idea of that many people rallying around an Imperial is a bit odd considering that to a significant chunk of the galaxy Zakuulian rule is probably way better than Imperial rule. Like if I was Balmorran I'd take Zakuul any day because all they'll do is put a giant space station in orbit.

Berke Negri posted:I think it's implied though not really shown outside of the initial trailer that Zakuul and the twins really wrecked poo poo. Edit: Putting in spoilers. You're explicitly told what happened during chapter 3. Zakuul didn't really invade anything directly other than completely wrecking Tython and Korriban, but what they did do was smash everyone's fleets and impose blockades. The Eternal Fleet is larger than every other fleet in the galaxy by a significant margin, is faster than all but the Empire's few isotope-5 powered ships, have much greater sensor range, and other advantages. Zakuul used the Eternal Fleet to choke off interstellar travel throughout the galaxy, starving the major powers into submission. The Star Fortresses came later, as a visible reminder of Zakuul's power and to keep an eye on things. Zakuul's general MO is distant rulership backed by the might of the Eternal Fleet as the "Don't make me come down there... Or else" threat. When you first learn about all of this, you're also told that Zakuul demands vast tribute in raw resources, but no one has any idea what Arcann is using it for - the Eternal Empire is big, but not big enough to use all of the tribute it's been collecting and no one knows where those resources are going. My guess is something to do with the Eternal Fleet.

I really enjoyed kotfe, but I finally realized why was bugging me about it and that is the fact that it's just not star wars anymore. It feels like some kind of bizzarro EU story. I mean it's still good and I enjoyed it, and I understand why they went in this direction but the story and setting is now just future space knights grand adventure.
