The fact that Muir considers rape to be a Halloween scenario while, somehow, still managing to immediately deny it's possible for his manly man to be raped at the end really shows you a lot about the paranoid doublethink that occurs in his mind. I used to think Muir was just a manchild, pitiful in a funny way, but now I'm seeing just how deep the rabbit hole goes. These strips aren't just his fantasies for himself and his wingnut supporters: they really are a display of the many lies a pitiful excuse for a man has to tell himself so he can blame any and all shortcomings on someone else. The fact that this other party somehow must simultaneously be worse than him in every way while also capable enough to be an invincible threat doesn't matter so long as it serves its real purpose in their minds. And his equally terrible supporters eat it all up because they have the same self-worshipping fantasy to keep form admitting their failure. In a weird way, I'm kind of glad I've seen this stuff here, because I finally get only what drives a the sheer self-delusion that drives men like him. Muir is utterly repulsive as a human in general, but he has been a learning experience.
