I could sorta see MK8 DLC happen if they go with a "and it's out right NOW!" sorta thing pretty soon and thus it turns out they had just never actually stopped working on MK8, just keeping up with a new pack every half year. Since Pokemon refuses to play nice i'd assume Kirby and Fire Emblem would be the most likely to be represented. And more F-Zero.

Archie had pitch a idea for a Super Mario Comic Nintendo but it was a no go. I wonder if this was pitch befiore or after Nintendo said they wanted to use there IP in more things then just games.

Apparently the pitch was back in 2009 when Archie first tried to get Capcom to license Megaman for a comic book. So, yeah, '09 Nintendo would totally say no right away, specially with how Mario looks in those pitch pages. I hope Archie tries again, with how successful their Archie relaunch was, and how Sonic comics are the only consistently good media Sonic has going, it might be appealing enough for Nintendo. That said, Megaman's comic being on an indefinite hiatus might also get in the way of things.
