I really enjoyed the interview with peaches. I've known her music for so long but didn't know the slightest thing about her.

The martin episode does give you some insight into his loving weirdo head. Which makes me wonder how loving strained and crazy the Stewart/Maron relationship must really be.

Ha, I was just wondering if we could get a Jon Stewart interview now that he's not doing TDS with his time.

I figure Jon Stewart doesn't need Marc Maron anywhere as much as Marc Maron needs Jon Stewart to bury the hatchet.

The peak of WTF for me is still the Michael Ian Black episode. The build up of the tension between those two felt like it was going on for years and during the episode it gets so tense Black can't stand to sit anymore and he directly confronts Marc saying Marc didn't think he was funny.

He gives him fatherly advice not to be cynical and even plays one of Burnham's songs at the end. Marc never plays anybody's material. It was the same song he did on Paul Provenza's show with Maron so that must've been where they met. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkIVV2iQtM4

I can say that I got about halfway through on the Howl app before the loving thing crashed on me, and I got annoyed and didn't try to relisten to it. Maybe it got better towards the end, but the first half is condescending as gently caress.

Saw Marc live last night. He did a great show, even though he was still suffering from jet lag. He did just over 2 hours, just flowed nicely for him, the crowd love him and gave him a standing ovation at the end

I liked Patricia Arquette's reading of Lost Highway. I never considered it was Lynch writing a response to the OJ trial. On the whole it ended better than it started, since she clearly didn't want to discuss much about her childhood, even though it sounded pretty crazy.

In looking around a little, he's apparently upset that he doesn't get more respect, is obviously hugely bitter over not being more successful and ever having a TV show, and sounds like an out of touch old man. Which, considering he's 70 now, makes sense. But holy poo poo, is he this argumentative, contrary, and unable to respect anyone else on other interview shows? What was he like on walking the room? I intend to listen to WTR, but haven't yet done so.

The "Probably Science" episode with Gallagher and Peter Serafinowicz was really good if only because Peter wouldn't take any of his racist poo poo.

Here's what Dave Anthony said about Gallagher after he was on Walking the Room: Gallagher is the Saddest Comedian Alive.Billy Gnosis posted:The "Probably Science" episode with Gallagher and Peter Serafinowicz was really good if only because Peter wouldn't take any of his racist poo poo. I was really impressed with how Peter Serafinowicz handled that. Gallagher seemed to be hinting at some weird theory about Mexicans, but was couching it all in vague language and questionable statistics and "just asking questions". Peter Serafinowicz basically cut him off and said what's your point, because it sounds like you're building up to calling an ethnicity inferior, and if you're not you better make that real clear right now.

So, basically what happens when a very specific, glass-ceiling'd kind of comedy fame and a certain mindset of life starts getting up there in age and Father Time starts nibbling at the faculties, while resentment towards not being able to get anything going that is "cushy" and a guaranteed paycheck pickles him. Jeez. You'd think he'd just go down to Branson, Missouri and try to get a casino gig. I bet he could easily get that kind of steady show.

My favorite part of the Gallagher episode was him saying that comedians are bitter that he gets to work state fairs and they don't. Also, this feels obvious, but listen to the Robin Williams episodes. Even if you've heard it. Just listen again.

Donnel Rawlings, Michael Ian Black, and Andy Daly are all charming. Rawlings has an interesting life story and goes off on black rooms and race in comedy. Michael Ian Black v Marc Maron is the most tense ever, until maybe Lorne, we'll see. And Andy Daly's is hilarious because everything he says about himself has Marc caught between laughter and pity, and marc just going Really? Really? You were that guy? and painting in details while Andy tries to pass Highschool and get to his career, which I dont think he really achieved, but its been awhile. And the Bob Zmuda episode is great, Marc lets him go for two hours of Andy Kaufman/Tony Clifton mythologizing, which some people hate but I think is great
