Its one of the animated Titanic movies, and I think its much better then Doug's for one simple reason: He shows more of the movie then Doug did. Now that I think about it thats what I liked more about Lupa's Food Fight review compared to Doug's, its less on wacky antics and more of letting the movie speak for itself.

I think at points it kinda crossed the line into "leaning too heavily on the material", but for the most part it was really funny. Though you really can't praise JonTron and condemn "wacky antics" in the same breath. When it comes down to it, JonTron is the Nostalgia Critic schtick done with better comedic scruples. It's not that he doesn't do wacky poo poo, it's just that he knows exactly when to do it, and how to balance it with dry wit.

I am seriously a big fan of Jon. I like Game Grumps better now with Dan and Arin, but I Think it's more to do with their Chemistry than anything else. Jon stands strong on his own. Also, unlike NC, he doesn't have crossovers with varying results every other week. (Some of them are great, others, not so much).

Side related question for those on the receiving end of Patreon money - I saw this running around the internet before and I was curious if there's validity to it...

...is the actual money per month a fraction of the stated total because of rampant account fraud? I was reading tales elsewhere of likely-bot accounts that unsubscribe the day before payment and then re-subscribe the day after, accounts with bad credit cards that still have access after months of Patreon promising to do something about them etc.

Just idle curiosity if that's something people have experienced or if this is just rumor-mongering.

I think both Jon and Doug had interesting videos on the subject, but critically Jon used, as you said, more footage from the film, and a lot of stuff never even hinted at in the NC review, what with the bigger focus on the dogs and more about the blatant ripoff from Disney/Bluth (I think Doug only mentioned Cinderella and Cameron's Titanic).

Also I think Jon is great fun any day of the week so I liked his review better.

When it comes to JonTron, I have a hard time getting past his Nathan Lane wannabe voice. It's really distracting to me (saying nothing of his actual comedy, etc.).

Hey man, a voice you don't click with can be a total deal breaker. That's why I can't see anything with Angry Joe or even Mr. Plinket. They're just obnoxious to my ears, even if the latter probably have interesting points.

He's always been devoted to having a standard of quality to his videos and it shows from the start. Even before he found his voice, he made sure his videos at least LOOKED decent, unlike literally every other video reviewer at the time. The fact that he sort of exploded on his own, independent of TGWTG or any of the cliques of that time, is a testament to his quality and appeal.

He's not for everyone, but he puts a lot of work and skill into his product, and he honestly deserves a lot more praise for that then he gets. The fact that people still bitch about him because of Twitter drama is just proof that they don't have anything better to criticize him for.

Don't worry! After that he'll make a review of some old cartoon and have his former demo reel people play as corporate folk so he can lecture them on how he stands by his artistic view instead of money and I'm sure I'm going to see that turned into a clip or a photoset retweeted over and over again as some sort of mental breakthru.

I can only speak from my experiences on a per video basis, but it's way too easy to scam for rewards on Patreon. Hopefully they'll implement a system to avoid people pulling their pledge just before they're charged at the beginning of the month, but right now it happens a lot. Not sure what fraction is lost per month. As for mine, even though it says $720 per video, that's really only what I get paid for the first video that month. Because of pay caps, that drops very quickly each video that's posted. Only bringing it up to give some perspective on what it says someone is making versus what they're actually making. That being said, Patreon is totally awesome and run by some cool folks who treat their creators well, at least in my experience.

They butted heads during that botched game jam and neither wanted their argument to be filmed and put on the internet. Jon never commented about Quinn or the incident since other than one tweet when GG blew up along the lines of 'lol trust me she is not worth getting worked up over'

I remember this. The story was they set up this gamejam, someone got some major tv studio to sponsor it and the director was a huge rear end in a top hat, which led to the drama and immediate NDAs from the studio.

Angry Joe was a judge on it. He said everyone went to Disney world afterward.
