Yeah, grabbed a dude randomly playing hard who did a great job paying attention to us, working with the team and even apologized for leaving us behind but did it when we got mobbed hard and told him to run so we'd get the dice roll. Way better than expected, would pubbies again.

That mission can be a real endurance challenge, more than once I've been in a group that loses people to having few enough heals they get instadead. Luckily you can pick people up, but it stings. Probably worth spleen hugging some ratspears with the worst hurt people at the end so you can pick them up.

Not that I've ever gotten a trueflight bow in the first place, however, I think I would prefer staying with a longbow if only because I want arrows to go where I point. Be it rat face, or friendly butts.

Making it the special attack button is just weird though, especially when there's no indication of this and doubly so when it's bound to "mouse extra 1" by default when there's nothing bound to the mouse wheel/middle. Sure I've rebound that key, but most games that have increased zoom do it by just clicking RMB twice (so I never would've figured extra zoom = a special attack) but then again I guess those games have it so zoom is locked until clicked again, not held. Edit: I guess I'm saying I don't necessarily disagree with you just how Fatshark implemented it. Abandoned Toaster fucked around with this message at 09:09 on Nov 4, 2015 |

Be it rat face, or friendly butts. Only orange quality bow that I have is a trueflight. It's not terrible, but I'd much rather have a longbow. Trueflight going into rat orbit can really gently caress up a save. It's great for sniping stationary specials, but so is the longbow. Plus the latter has the added advantage of the arrows going, as you say, where you point them to. Being able to curve arrows around corners is pretty nice, but I find it comes in handy much less often than you think. Metos posted:Correct, anything that fits in slot 2 has friendly fire with an exception for the Beam Bright Wizard staff's left click attack and Conflagration's right click, as well as bombs do deal friendly fire too. I got a 6-die roll and a 7-die roll tonight. -6-die snagged me an orange....poison bow with eagle eye / more arrows / 5-10% knockback also more arrows on the longbow is a godsend, I have nearly as much ammo as the shortbow to plink random rats in the face, but still with the utility to snipe groups if need be -7-die gave me a red hat....for the elf. I mean it looks nice and all, but a white hood/mask with some mini-antlers seems fairly lackluster compared to plumed helmets or a pirate hat, gimme something that will not be visually lost in that furry, bullet-magnet cloak of hers

The reduced spread may be relatively minor, however in practice it helps out a great deal with mitigating crosshair bloom. On a different bow, I find that the chance to split arrows makes the crosshairs bloom like crazy, even though at times it comes in pretty clutch when you need to take down a stormvermin, however it's pretty annoying when you're trying to deliver a midrange care package to a clanrat. I'm not entirely sure what a good third would be. Attack speed may counteract the weapon spread trait, maybe bloodlust would be better?

Decided to play with my awesome friend and my 2 newbish-but-have-played-tonnes-of-games friends. Did Hard Horn cause it's easy and gives ok loot as long as no one fucks up and its easily achievable if you have Greens equipped (as Newbish's did). First game went great, we did the beam strat cause awesome friend and I are farming and justify it as saving . Rolled that orange Crossbow I mentioned earlier. Awesome friend rolled a blue. Newbish's got blues too. Second game went great till we went to jump down from the roof to the lift. One Newbish friend didn't run straight for the hole with the group but tried to hack'n'slash his way through. Died up top. Those of us in the elevator died as the rats swarmed us and we hard to wait for Newbish 1 to bleed out; it didn't happen fast enough. Newbish 1 blamed rats for trapping him. Third game was rough, early Rogre with only one Pot and no Bombs was annoying but we got there though we are on low HP the hole game through. Just as we were clearing the 2nd half of the roof before picking up the 2nd Grim, Newbish 2 runs back to grab the grim with out telling anyone on Skype. We fight a swarm off only to turn around and see his siloute in the Grim room picking up it. As we tell him off for running off with out saying so he gets hook-ratted and starts to die; while we try to get to him the 2nd swarm appears and he dies, glitching out and having his body fall through the world so we can't even get his tome loot (and the grim is lost). Awesome friend and I say just gun it for the tower and start running, but Newbish 1 says he wants the tome and starts heading back; too bad he is on low HP and a Rattling appears. I've already jumped into the tower and Awesome gets taged on the roof by the Rattling as he tries to run to me (having stopped to see if he could shoot the gunner and swarm of Newbish 1 like the hero he is). I solo my way up to the top of the tower, rescue Awesome and Newbish 2 while Newbish 1 gets to AFK cause his rescue point is at the bottom of the lift. We do beam and get out. I roll a blue, Newbish 1 and 2 get a blue each while Awesome missed out on orange 2-Handed Dwarf Axe by 1 dice. Game 4 starts off like game 1 with a few more scrapes with Gas Rats. Inside the Inn we are about to jump over the impassable ramp into the room with the 3rd tome when a swarm triggers. Newbish 2 has already jumped over and Awesome says over Skype for us to all jump in too. Newbish 1 for some reason doesn't run to me, who is standing on the ramp to cover him from snares/assassins, but instead into the room in the inn. And gets swarmed and dies while I desperately hold back the piles of chaff trying not to die myself as I was in the red; in the end I have to abandon his dropped Tome because despite surviving I was also carrying one. We continue to climb the roof/tower and Newbish 2 grabs the grim again with an escort having learnt his lesson promising to be more careful this time. We survive on the beam and as we rush for the lift we are Newbish 2 see's a strength potion he mistakes for a healing potion and picks up; destroying the grim. I get a green, Newbish 1 gets a blue and Newbish 2 gushes over how he just got an orange Trinket with 60% bigger nade explosions. Poor Awesome misses out on his orange by one dice yet again. The moral of the story is just because your friends tell you they know what they are doing; and have constant voice chat on doesn't mean they actually know what they are doing. And now I feel like a total rear end in a top hat for asking Awesome if my mates could join us on our farm runs. Awesome was so chill about it though over Skype but in Steam chat to me he was maximum level frustrated. Also Play Badly, Get Rewarded is real. Between us Awesome and I are level 60 and we have had 1 orange drop. Gridlocked fucked around with this message at 16:43 on Nov 4, 2015 |

I honestly don't understand repeated failures of basic mechanics comprehension after I assume they got explained to them more than once. Stay with the group, tell people if you're going to go somewhere they aren't, and for the love of god everyone over the one way barrier at once. That's about as simple as try to make sure you open the door before trying to walk through it.

Massive newbie question: what's the best strategy for dealing with rat ogres? Do you just want someone with a lot of stamina to grab its attention while everyone else wails on it? Does it count as armoured? If you're playing a Bright Wizard is it a good idea to lob charged fireballs at it (I tend to use the fireball staff which probably makes me a big scrub, though I haven't actually seen a beam staff drop yet), or should I just be meleeing it? Or is it better to plink it at range? Is it designed to be a bullet sponge or is there some trick to properly damaging it so it doesn't take 30 seconds of constant effort to kill?
