wilfredmerriweathr posted:Yeah mn is awesome. Apple season in MN is awesome. If you're in the Twin Cities, head southwest on 169 or west on 5 and you'll find some great orchards and vineyards. Parley Lake winery in Waconia has really come into it's own over the last 5 years and their apple orchard is great. I enjoy the whites that they make but the reds are a bit off-putting in my opinion. They have the best Haralsons around. Minnesota Harvest in Jordan is good too. Lots to do, rides for the kids, etc. Those are the two we go to with our kids but there are plenty more. Just follow the Minnesota River Valley and you'll find them every so often. North Dakota is good for apples as well. Instead of lots of orchards, they tend to just grow wild so just keep an eye out. If you see a tree loaded with apples, just ask the property owner and I'm sure they'll let you pick them. I've pulled a few gallons of the sweetest wild crab apples I've ever had off of a wild tree.

Do they still have "Internet Cafes" (places where you gamble) elsewhere in the Midwest? They used to have a ton of these skeezy places all over Cuyahoga County and then the government said "Nah, you can't have places like that for gambling", basically. Now they're all gone. Any stip mall area that had <50% vacancy was almost guaranteed to have one. Welcome to Randall Park Mall, south of Cleveland, Ohio (t-img'ed for table breaking panorama) This was an absolute Mecca of a dead mall. Here's part of its sad story: http://www.deadmalls.com/malls/randall_park_mall.html I think that either a partial or complete demolition of the mall is in progress - it's been languishing since the early 1980s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh8wZnOP73o Three-Phase fucked around with this message at 04:00 on Nov 4, 2015 |
