poty posted:htc has the same problem as sony when it comes to selling androids i got a hand me down sony xperia z1 for free earlier this year so ive been using it and it seems pretty nice, higher quality than a lot of other anroids i think. plus the internal design is really modular and laid out pretty well so i can replace individual components for cheap. i just ordered out the side button assembly and a new battery for $10 combined and it was pretty easy to swap them out and now my phone feels new again. i can even get a replacement screen for $30 and it's not that tricky to replace on my own if i need to. one of my friends just asked me to fix the headphone jack on her mega cheap anroid crapphone and it turns out nearly every component is soldered onto a single pcb so it would require someone who actually knows what they're doing instead of someone like me who only knows how to plug ribbon cables into a mainboard
