I'm getting this, because it's the first FPS I've really liked in the past half-decade. Had a lot of fun in the beta on the PC. Helps that I was able to humble the hell out of my cocky teen nephew in the beta. He went on and on about how his generation was so much better at this poo poo than mine because he's young and  . Boy, we pioneered this poo poo. Go play Q3RA, and maybe you'll have ups like me.

This is a fun game but I really hope that next year Infinity Ward just make Modern Warfare 4 instead of continuing Ghosts or doing more future stuff like Treyarch & Sledgehammer. I know people probably hated MW3 but that's still the most enjoyable game in the franchise for me thanks to the WW3 spectacle in singleplayer and how chaotic multiplayer was. It kinda feels like all the COD developers have gone in the opposite direction since MW3 and tried to show as much restraint as possible but to be honest I just miss killstreaks going off constantly and how multiplayer matches turned into total chaos.

I'm more curious to see if they adopt numovement from AW/BO3, or if they keep it more restrained. No CoD will ever be as good as old CoD without the AC-130  (and the real chopper gunner, gently caress those streaks owned)

I'm kinda hoping that since Ghosts & Advanced Warfare were huge flops and Black Ops 3 is apparently selling a lot more that Activision will just tell Infinity Ward to make a new Modern Warfare instead since it's a popular IP like Black Ops and a sequel to Ghosts is pretty much a guaranteed flop, I think? If they made a sequel to Ghosts and it didn't sell very well wouldn't Activision just shut their studio down? They don't seem to have a high tolerance for games that underperform and probably want another Modern Warfare instead of Ghosts since the former would sell a lot more thanks to how revered the Modern Warfare series is. I really loved the assault/support/specialist system for multiplayer as well and wish that would come back so that people who suck like me could still get stuff via support, and the specialist perk system was really clever too and mixed things up for the good players who wanted more perks instead of killstreaks.

The 205 Brecci semi auto shottie is a very solid gun but you HAVE to play to its strength as an ambush shottie. Do not try to go toe to toe with somebody with that gun.

This is what has disappointed me in every game since MW2 except maybe Black Ops 1. Yeah a lot of things were overpowered as hell and could have used a bit of toning down but it was a lot more fun with all the killstreaks. I'm only usually seeing a single air support a match.

The shotguns are pretty scary loving good in this game  I'm legitimately impressed, the shotguns and lmgs are both pretty rad, it's not a total SMG show like I was expecting. So shotties. Put long barrel on all of em: KRM - short range, one shot kills, low rof. Can one shot hipfire reasonably reliably at very close range. ~half the range of the haymaker and 205. Haymaker 12 - Full auto, low damage, potential two shot kills, but good range. Spray and pray, also works great while jumping around like an idiot. 205 Brecci - Two shot kills, about as much range as the Haymaker, inbetween rof from the KRM and Haymaker, but slightly more consistent 2sks at range than the Haymaker due to better damage per pellet. Argus - One shot kills while ADS at max distance, always, body shot or no  Can two shot hipfire kill from long range occasionally too. A touch more range than the haymaker/205.Only thing I didn't look at too closely is if the Argus is as reliable as the KRM up close for hipfire one shots. I think the KRM is probably more forgiving of glancing hipfire shots with a wider spread that can still kill up close, but I didn't test it extensively. iirc the silencer penalty on shotties is way less severe than it is on other guns, though I didn't check the exact range penalty closely yet (it's a massive penalty on ars/lmgs, not as bad on smgs which already have fairly significant damage falloff - keep that in mind if you silence your ar/lmg!)

I just played nuketown for 3 hours. I really don't want to play any more of that utter chaos but the XP is too good in Domination if you manage to capture B and kill people while near B. Getting a lovely team that doesn't want to cap objectives is the worst.
