I mean... do you know what those abilities do without needing to reference the card? If so toss 'em. If not keep 'em

The only feedback I have is similar to that other goon, that sometimes questions were being answered from the stream's chat channel when play-by-play commentary whatever was happening that game would have been pretty helpful. Anyways, you guys are doing a great job, and the game seems like it owns right now. If you want to send me a bunch of free stuff, I have PMs

Playing a tourney atm. Lunch break. My list is ten number with mangler, keyan with PTL, Jake with vi, PTL, prockets and auto thrusters. First fight was vs a palpmobile with soontir vader backup. First shot mangler puts a direct hit on soontir. He survived rest of game. Jake procketed all the shields off the palpmobile then killed it with two rounds range one shooting. In the end, only thing I killed. Round 2 was against scum. All I can is that there was a hawk who would not die. At all.

Well, I took that Soontir + Vader + Omega Ace list to an event today. ...and let's just say it was a learning experience. I definitely had trouble connecting with Omega Ace's ability, but a lot of my problems came down to mis-flying on my part.

Round 3. Against Luke poe and airen. I created a nice bump traffic jam in middle, wiped poe and airen out. Somehow keyan got 2 rounds of r1 shots from the entire enemy list. Lost one shield. Due to really bad flying it ended up a r1 duel between ten and Luke. Mutual kill and a draw

I just flew a Keyan Farlander build the other day myself, Keyan Farlander (29) Advanced Sensors (3) Heavy Laser Canon (7) Stay On Target (2) B-Wing/E2 (1) Intelligence Agent (2) Ibtisam (28) Advanced Sensors (3) Wired (1) B-Wing/ES (1) Mercenary Copilot (2) Rookie Pilot (21) R2 Astromech (1) Total: 100 I like the idea behind stay on target + intelligence agent, it's a pretty funny combo - but I was mostly up against lower PS ships anyway so it didn't feel tremendously useful. I feel like I read somewhere that you can "spend" his stress somewhere even if you don't roll any focuses on an attack - is that true? Ibtisam + Wired is a neat little combo. The Mercenary Copilot and Ad Sens on him didn't come in too handy - does anyone ever bother with Gunner & FCS on B-Wings or is that too many points? Could have dropped the X-Wing to a Z-95 to afford it I suppose. I don't normally fly B-Wings too often but I just got this commissioned one in with a neat little rotating cockpit and folding S-Foils so I had to try it out!

That B-Wing is sexy as hell. I really should get into doing repaints of my own ships. As for FCS + Gunner on a B-Wing, you've got to be wary of loading them with too many points. B-Wings are at their best with just a couple of upgrades, because with only one green die to defend them, they'll melt under pressure pretty quick.

Yep, it's pretty rad and makes Keyan's ability super useful. Essentially the only time you can't shed a stress is when you don't have an attack lined up at all, and if your opponent is being gracious enough to just let you K-turn in place like some sort of space-based turret, well.

Any thoughts?

I'd say you'd get more leverage from using glitterstim, as it'll do no good having crack shot and latts neutralising green dice if your red dice fail you.

I love using Glitterstim on K fighters. I pretty much always set them up like they are the War Pups from Mad Max. I never expect them to survive the match, but they sure are going to try and take someone else with them.

I have a (somewhat) strange rules question regarding Focus tokens. It came up when we we're trying out a weird Chewie build that used Lando crew. If you were to somehow obtain a focus token before using your Lando action (say by using experimental interface off of a focus action and then using Lando, for example) and you roll 2 focus results for your Lando roll, could you spend the focus token to change the Lando result to 2 evades? According to the original core set rule book the answer would seem to be no: "The player can spend the focus token later during the combat phase..." The rule book seems to imply that focus (and evade) tokens can ONLY be spent during the Combat Phase, which would mean that, no, you can't use a focus on a Lando roll. However, the interesting side question that pops up as a result is; if focus (and evade) tokens can only be spent in the Combat Phase, then how can Corran use them on a double tap attack, since that occurs at the beginning of the End phase? The new Rules Reference guide actually only muddies the waters further. In the section under Focus it says "When attacking or defending the ship may spend a focus token..." Which nicely clears up both the Lando crew question and the Corran question, however the back cover Quick Reference says "Focus: Place 1 focus token on the ship. During the combat phase, spend it to change all focus results to hit results..." My best guess is that RAW is not what they intended here, since the original core rulebook and the quick reference interpretation would mean not only that Corran can't use his focus token on the double tap, but that his chosen target couldn't either (and they wouldn't be able to use any evade tokens). To me, the only version that makes sense would be the one in the Rules Reference guide. It's altogether possible that somebody has pointed all of this out to FFG and they've addressed it already, but I couldn't find anything regarding it.

Ballpoint Penguin posted:I have a (somewhat) strange rules question regarding Focus tokens. The Rules Reference is the definitive authority on rules. You are only allowed to spend focus tokens on modifying attack or defense rolls. So you can't modify any other kind of roll with focus tokens unless a card explicitly states you can do it.

At work at the moment so I can't check, but assuming you're within the requisite range, shouldn't you be able to turn them into evades that way?

Yes you can use Jan on that because youre not modifying the dice just the token you get from the dice.

Yeah, that's correct. Jan could only convert one of them to an Evade though. Also, I totally agree and understand that you can't focus on a Lando roll no matter what rulebook you're looking at (although I think it'd be way cooler if you could). I'm more interested in the discrepancy between the Focus action text within the Rules Reference guide and the very different wording used on the back cover Quick Reference of the very same book.

Ah drat, I didn't realize Jan could only modify the one result. Oh also, I came 3rd in the tournament I was in on the weekend. Got a fancy dice bag, as well as alt-art cards for PTL, Luke Skywalker and Soontir Fel. (They misplaced their current 'season's tournament kit though, which is why this is all stuff from the last kit. I'm happy though; it's all stuff I didn't get last time, when I came fourth. They said they're also going to run another one once they find the correct kit, so more events for me! I want that alt-art C3P0 that I think one of you mentioned being in the current kit)

At the rate Disney is likely to be producing content, and the willingness Lucasfilm seems to have to work with the design team (Imperial Raider), I reckon it is going to be quite hard for FFG to run out of tiny plastic spaceship designs.
