Update on my kids school being authoritarian shitwads is pretty much a non-update. The teacher who was threatening collective punishment hasn't been seen since (not unusual for this school, I almost expect to see certain staff photoshopped out of old school pictures), and playground rumour mill is that more than one set of parents has written to the governors asking for an update on the uniform policy with regards government guidelines which essentially has a lot of weasel words for "the school can set a colour jumper/trousers and footwear, allowances have to be made for cultural/religious purposes, governors have to explain in writing at parents request if a kid is disciplined for uniform rules explaining the breach and the reason for the rule". My daughter, at her choice, has been rocking a series of colourful yet sensible hairbands with no interference. Another few months and a bunch of senior staff will probably jump ship again, making the 5th or 6th change in leadership in the last 6 years (right now, there are 5 headteachers/deputies). Then, a new leadership will come, have a frontpage article with a picture of them smiling blandly standing in front of the school in the evening echo about how they will turn the school around, gently caress around with staff and uniform policy for awhile then gently caress off when they realise the problems have a much deeper basis than kids not turning up dressed perfectly. All while the school slid from an ofsted 2 to a 4.

I've been seeing a lot of imported American "if you can afford <x>, you don't need welfare!" stuff circulating on Facebook and it's directly linked to Channel 5 and their endless parade of Benefits Britain sixty-minutes hates. If I could ban one type of programme from television it'd be those. They're the modern equivalent of the antisemitic cartoons in Nazi Germany. They're produced with the sole aim of convincing the public that benefits claimants aren't like us and that anything other than cold gruel thinned by your own tears is for us and not them.

Do you think JC practices that eyebrow or is it just an involuntary reflex when he comes within ten yards of a Tory/War Criminal. It's a miracle of nature either way. I smell a Viz one-shot about Jezza and his Magic Eyebrow.

We need more spies to stop terrorists from killing people even if that means that a greater number of people die from hospital shortages because the deficit must be brought down at all costs.

We have had to carefully cultivate our 'gently caress you' faces through years of repeated exposures to middle management restructures and budget cuts instead.

In the best timeline, David Cameron and the media constantly run a hate campaign against JC for five years. The media bubble is convinced that blanket anti-Corbyn coverage has worked, and that he's a dead man walking. But then on polling day, everyone who's met JC reflects on that meeting. They reflect on the humble, pleasant man who listened to them. And they vote for him. And it all adds up. Every Armistice day veteran, every school teacher, every Spurs supporter, they all vote for the man who didn't seem quite how the media made him out to be. And he wins.

Bozza I'm on a train outside doncaster apparently there are two separate incidents of overhead line damage and there are apparently going to be severe delays. We've already been stationary for 40 minutes. Do you have any idea how long it might take and how much compensation I might get off a 27 quid open return? This has been my contribution to the discussion about politics in the United Kingdom of great Britain and northern Ireland.
