I am fine buying digital-only PC games because I'm fairly certain I'm going to own a PC forever. I'm a bit more tenuous about it when dealing with temporary services or devices lacking backwards compatibility.

I generally buy my PS3 stuff digitally cause I live in Korea so shipping is a pain (and I hate playing games in Korean) but the PS4's lack of backward compatibility is what's kept me from getting one so far cause I don't see myself buying that many games for it yet and since my TV is on my desk alongside my PS3 and laptop, I'd have to move the PS3 away if I wanted to bring in the PS4 as well. PS4 being able to play MKV files and having a Twitch app is a plus but that just makes it a very expensive anime / streaming device.
