I honestly couldn't name a single mon cal apart from ackbar and jesmin, though, nor a quarren other than that one guy that "had a mon cal friend" and flew that scout ship in x-wing book 8. "can't kill mon cals in the new republic".

For as sort of dumb as that was the Marvel comics and especially Vader have actually been good....or I just like stupid stuff...like murder droids and goofy stuff. That said Vader finding out Luke is his son and just reflecting on the Emperor lying to him is actually legit good. Oh also  but did you know the Jedi built their temple on Ancient Sith Burial grounds! Well it was also a temple but I can't help thinking about a Jedi Amityville Horror EU novel.

I couldn't keep going once it turned into Vader and henchmen alongside his personal crew of evil 3PO, R2, and his waifu going on adventures. Guest starring boba fett and the bounty hunters!! I stopped at issue 6 or 7. But yeah the only thing good in there was him reflecting and knowing his place as a ~sith apprentice~. Journey to force awakens looks good so far. The artwork on the ships is fantastic and I hope it turns out to be more like wraith squadron than rogue squadron.

i think we can attribute at least part of how terrible the EU is to the development of the force as this all-powerful ability. like poo poo, even in the prequels, it's this subtle ability with the most powerful jedi, yoda, struggling to keep a bunch of rocks from falling on top of anakin and obi-wan. then we get to the EU and there's ridiculous poo poo like force storms that every dark jedi know how to use and can destroy fleets in space with it or transport people over vast distances using it oh and every other planet has to have some unique jedi crystal and the constant 1-up employed by every EU author to show how evil the empire is b/c empire karen traviss and michael stackpole are the only relatively good eu authors tbh
