OK, I have a horrible confession to make. I never grew out of the arrow-key controls that I learned as a child of the mid-90s. Meaning I use arrow keys for movement, num-0 for jump, shift for sprint, etc. This scheme has served me well for nigh on 20 years and I've never been able to adapt to WASD. Now, the rub: Num-0 is a reserved button that cannot be remapped. Someone please tell me there's a way around this awful limitation. I literally cannot jump and that's a non-starter obviously :(

So, for anyone having the same trouble as me - I offer a solution. I used AutoHotKey. Here's my script. It works without issue. Hope it helps someone:

1) Legendary Deathclaw. gently caress that. End of story.

2) Just a friendly reminder, don't forget about the gun (Cryolator) in Vault 111 behind the master lock in the Overseer's room. It is freaking awesome. Far and away the most insane weapon against human targets. The original shot with the gun is passingly okay, although excellent for freezing large groups of people to kill with an explosion or something else, but the alternate fire mode you can mod has it firing slow moving snowballs, and it is freaking awesome. I can even take out Legendary targets with three burst shots via V.A.T.S. or manual head shots.

I think it's bullshit that I have to use this solution to fix my key mapping problem. If I don't find console commands to fix these lazily made hard coded key binds, I'll probably just get a refund through Steam (haven't played 2 hours yet), and buy it next year when it's over half off and when mods have fixed this poo poo.

I havent had a plrecription for my eyes in years so the other day I went and got a new one and it hasnt changed. The doctor was like why havent you seen us in 4 years? I told them im scared of op tomietris when the air shoots into your eyes and dilation. They told me my eyes cold get worse....
Playing this at 4K @ 50-60 FPS so I've been playing it at 1440 to make sure I'm always getting 60 and jbecause the UI and text is a lot smaller at 4K for me to read. It almost seems like it doesn't even matter though because it is buttery smooth at 4K and with ReShade (sweetfx mostly) the game actually looks pretty breath taking in some areas. I can't wait to see what better reshade and better textures end up doing. It won't change anything until they can fix the animations though because even if the game world looks good the character models and animations are a huge eyesore. After seeing tomb raider rise game videos holy cow that game is the pinnacle of animations and it is too bad Bethesda can't fix their "jank" to get anything like that but if they could and fix the textures this game would be one of the best looking games (hard to believe I'm saying that after watching 20+ hours of streams that looked like garbage, but they weren't playing with reshade then).

I guess I'm a little confused though because I got all these guns and they have a value but I can't find a vendor with a lot of money to trade for them and caps seem kind of worthless (i'm only a few hours in though so maybe this changes)/... Should I be junking guns or selling them to vendors? How do you remove mods from a gun is it all just stuff from the weapons workshop? Is it worthwhile to learn chemistr and such? . Is there any perk that affects the shotguns? I looked over the list several times and couldnt find anything.

I wasn't really sure how to go into this so I have a high perception, high agility and decent charisma and luck. My str endurance and int are around 2 or 3 each. The only things I really have been getting are like lockpicking sneaking and pistols/rifles because I cant find a shotgun thing. Any really good perks that are "overpowered" for someone who likes to just shoot and has a high agility? It seems that blitz is the good one but that is only for melee vats :ohdear:

This game is objectively worse than fallout 3 in just about every respect, the off center camera is totally poo poo, the loading times are completely horrendous, the control interface is a kludge and a complete piece of poo poo. Cancel your order and wait for modders to make the game playable because right now it's a joke and I almost quit before even getting out of the vault, but then I gave up as soon as I started using the crafting system before I even left the first town. The game needs a ton of mods before it will be any good, and if they can't fix the off center camera I won't even be able to play it in the first place. When will devs learn that that off center camera gives a ton of people motion sickness?

For me the game is totally unplayable in it's current state.

The story and the characters motivation are also a huge step back from previous titles, oh boy I need to go save my baby who cares?

Adding all the retarded gun bullshit to make it more like borderlands is also dumb imo, but that's just a preference thing.

Took a while before I figured this out: When you modify a gun, the existing mod (if any) gets turned into an item and is placed in a separate pane in your inventory. These mods can then be applied to other guns of the same class. Warning: I don't know what happens if you remove a mod that you're not high level enough to be able to craft, though - you might be unable to re-apply the mod if you don't have the skills for it.

The level 1 CHA trade perk at max lets you invest in shops so they have more caps, but so far my method is just to sell anything that happens to be in my inventory at the time I encounter a vendor.
