Honestly most of the worst metalcore bands are the ones leaning toward metal, like all of the lovely At the Gates clones. Stuff like Converge, Ringworm and Gaza is way better.

I love the awkward slowish tempo that stars about 2:30 in. The sound and arrangement/riffs, so menacing, heavy, just everything. It's so terrible sounding in the good way and still rocks hard.
