Yeah tanks are rolling out hard for that Void Ark set. Lack of parry as a substat has big number fantasies brewing.

There are definitely merits to having multiple roles leveled. (Relatively new players who haven't yet had the opportunity aside, of course.) Besides the obvious option of "play whatever gets you the fastest queue, even if the apocalypse is nigh due to that being DPS" (even if it means you're stuck with greed rolls), it also gives you insight into mechanical things others had to deal with.

For example, back near launch I knew a moderately wiggly paladin. He then started leveling dragoon. Not only did he stop unnecessary wiggling, but he even apologized to me (I was a monk, at the time) retroactively for how annoying it had been.

See also: healers knowing how to cleanse after various deaths or annoyances due to not being cleansed as DPS, tanks remembering to pop cooldowns and keep their leftside gear updated after playing as healers through dungeons with squishy tanks, healers appreciating the merits of Cleric Stance from clear speed differences they saw as tank/DPS, tanks learning other tanks' tricks for speed runs (and also learning that what may seem like a good idea as a tank will have your melee DPS and healer swearing at you), DPS knowing that being too lovely at avoiding avoidable damage will get them onto the healer's poo poo list after having been a healer propping up a can't-be-hosed-to-dodge DPS too many times, etc.

How common is it for healers to just...ignore cleric stance? I play mostly healer, so I don't really see others until 8-man content when a lot have their poo poo together. But with the recent increase of exp from MSDR I've been doing that, and seeing a ton of healers who just sit there and refuse to ever use cleric stance or offensive spells, even in comically easy content like castrum/prae, preferring to just overheal tiny slivers of damage. Is this common all through leveling? Because if so I'm sorry.

I want to say it gets less common as you level up - Haukke or Qarn is probably peak 'just sit there and heal' time. I think it definitely happens the most with WHMs, since ACNs can start off with having a lot to do when not healing, while WHM DPS rotations is basically two spells, three once they hit their 40s, which can make it feel more stagnant.

There is a decent bit of confusion/wondering about this, though, because the last time we saw Alisaie she had discarded that outfit for a relatively plain traveling mage's tunic & trousers set due to her old outfit getting badly damaged during the final battle with Bahamut. That said, Alf had his duds messed up by the same fight, and his outfit was fine in 2.5, so it's entirely possible she swapped out for her spare Space Jammies.

I sorta hope she didn't, though, because the symbology of her abandoning her old outfit at the end of Coil was cool.

Void Ark queues for Tank seem worse than ST/WoD was, but not by much. It's not surprising considering they only allow 1/8th of the party members to be a tank anyway. CT had 6 tanks and it was a mistake.

Queues are probably legitimately broken in that case. I've consistently been seeing 30 minutes or so on my Warrior.

Yeah, queues have always been able to break, by placing you into a "deprioritized" queue that continually gets put behind newer queues. We were hoping the 3.1 changes fixed that, but they appear to have addressed something else entirely.

I was in a queue for void ark in a group where we were just missing 2 dps. It took 50 minutes to get a run. I solo queued for it as a dps yesterday and got a run in 6 minutes.

Queue times are just a little screwy.

daidem is super boring and as one of my friends described it, "doing a boss FATE for an hour and a half non-stop." i have no idea why people are tripping over themselves to run it all day. everytime i hear someone asking for people to join their daidem group i can feel my soul slowly seeping out of my body to try and escape the tedium.

i mean yeah it's definitely not for everyone and if it sounds boring to you, definitely don't feel obligated to do it. that said, the "90 minute fate boss" thing is the exact thing that a lot of people like about it and the only reason those people aren't dead right now is because of the half hour cooldown between missions
