ive made sure that I have one gun for every type of ammo if I can swing it, and i like to wander through raider camps and stuff and murder everything and take all the bullets. My serrated chinese sword helps me restock ammo now that I'm level 20 and I can just wreck lower level poo poo really easily with it

i made a little semi auto .38 pipe rifle and took two perks in rifleman, and i just use that for anything raider or weaker. threw a drum clip, the strongest receiver, and a reflex sight on it and now it's the perfect up close and personal spray and pray death machine. .38 is dirt cheap and easy to find in bulk, so that saves a lot of money.

I don't carry a pipe rifle with me but they're literally everywhere so if I'm ever running low on energy ammo I can usually just pick one up off the ground as fallback and toss it after a fight

zoux posted:theyre worth a shitload of caps the only real money trick i know that isn't an exploit is spamming water purifiers at your settlements. each one deposits 20 purified water at your base every day. water goes for about 8 caps. it's pretty easy to get like 200 waters a day, which is 1,600 caps.
