Welp, when it rains it pours. Blew a cam seal out of my 175k mile, infinitely reliable V70 wagon last week, left oil trails all over my neighborhood. Usually that means the PCV system is clogged. So I did the glove test, lots of suction. So I re-install the seal and drive to the car wash to clean the oil off of... the car. I get a wild hair and build a crank pressure gauge out of an old oil cap. Under boost, my engine block pressure builds to about 2 psi. Nobody online really knows if that's normal, it's all "glove test". So I put the gauge on my C70, and it does almost the exact same thing. So now I either have clogged PCV systems on both my cars, or they're both fine and I have no idea why the seal popped out, or if it's going to do it again. Either way I'm still unemployed and can't afford any of this poo poo. And even though I immediately power washed it all, I'm terrified that my timing belt's life is shortened after being oil soaked, which I can't afford either.

I was trimming a bumper cover to clear a front mount intercooler and sliced into my index finger near the knuckle. Think it took 8 stitches, and was just before I took a trip to visit friends. So that whole next week I had a bunch of poo poo on my hand which was a pain in the rear end. The doctor actually suggested I cancel my trip. For a cut on the finger. I laughed. Then a maybe few burns. Edge of brake rotor shaped burns on each forearm, and also forearm burns from changing an E46 M3 exhaust while it was on the dyno to do a back to back test. Also pretty much every time I touch an EVO X I manage to get a few cuts.

the spyder posted:Mechanic injuries: What's your most memorable? I'm honestly not sure. There was the time I was using an angle grinder improperly and ended up with a tiny fragment of steel 1/3 of the way through my right cornea. Several horrible days later I finally saw it (angle of the light in the mirror was just right) and went to the ER to have it removed. A week of specialist checkups, antibiotics, and steroid cream applied to my eye (gently caress that sucks to do) later and I was fine, though if I get dehydrated that eye still gets dry first, like an old person's ability to predict the weather with their knees. Then the time I was changing the oil filter on an old Windstar at work (a quicklube) and got a third degree burn on my right wrist because they stuck it in the grundle of the drivetrain, about six inches up between the catcon and the frame rail. That was in 2003 or 2004... it's 2015 and the scar is still plainly visible. Or maybe the time I almost cut my left index finger off with an angle grinder. That was in 2011 and yeah, the scar from that is still visible too.

Punched a hole into my pinky finger with a bolt-on pedal cover when adjusting the clutch cable: http://sharkytm.com/images/finger2.jpg , which pulled out the fat pad... 3 stitches to close that up.

Oh yeah, there's the garage door opener track shaped lumpy scar on the top of my head from standing up in a cramped garage, directly into the end of the track, which is loving sharp, BTW. I felt it scrape my skull and blood came flooding out from under my hair a few seconds later. And the time we were at the junkyard and all my rear end in a top hat NEAI friends were laughing at me and joking around after I cut my right index finger to the bone right behind the nail root, probably because they didn't realize how bad it hurt or how deep it actually went. A few laters that scar has almost faded, but I remember it like it was yesterday. IIRC there is video of that one happening.

Country fire service just made me absolutely poo poo myself. I'm slashing out in our national parks at the moment and the biggest risk I've got (other than falling off the edge of a track) is hitting a rock with a slasher and starting a bushfire. The CFS was up where I'd slashed 45 mins ago and lit a small fire for a fire cause investigation course. Looked back, saw a plume of smoke, shat myself.

Late to the party but for me the best mashup is still The Grey Album. For those of you who've lived under a rock for the last 11 years or are too young to know, Danger Mouse took Jay-Z's Black Album and mixed it with The Beatles' White Album, making something...absolutely magical: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeJQh6xjjTc

Mexican cars have been legal for import to Canada for a little while now (although nobody seems to have actually done it and written up how), and the first thing I thought of was getting a Tsuru coupe and making the B13 SE-R I never had a chance to own. But then I thought about the immense amount of bullshit I would need to go through.
