Links Fallout 4 Nexus The majority of mods will be found here, there are already quite a few good ones. Official Forums *no mod section here yet This place is a cesspool so far, enter at your own risk of mental health Fallout 4 Console Commands Handy reference for all your console command needs. Fallout 4 Wiki Tools Mod Organizer 2 Highly Recommended, keeps Data folder pure (except for enb, and f4se files, they have to go in the root fo4 folder) FO4Edit PreRelease Alpha, but works so far. Check out this vid on how to make Merged Leveled List Patches, automated Merged Patches still not officially supported. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3YX4UeuqmM Fallout 4 Script Extender (F4SE) We will be needing this for all the best mods, its not out yet, check back soon. Gibbed's Fallout 4 Tools Includes: Material and Effects Coverters, and Upackers. B.A.E - Bathesda Archive Extractor Used to extract BA2 and BSA files. How to make Fallout 4 PC not feel like poo poo Fix an otherwise amazing game. INIs are located in C:\Users\{YOUR NAME}\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\ Problem 1: Mouse aiming feels like poo poo because of mouse acceleration Open both Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini In the [Controls] section of both files, add this line: bMouseAcceleration=0 Problem 2: Mouse aiming still feels like poo poo because vertical sensitivity is half as much as horizontal (seriously Bethesda?) Open Fallout4.ini In the [Controls] section, find fMouseHeadingXScale On the next line, make fMouseHeadingYScale 2x the amount of fMouseHeadingXScale Problem 3: The FOV is locked at 70/80 because you're playing this on a couch from 8 feet away with a controller, right? Oh, you aren't? Open both Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Prefs.ini In the [Display] section of both files, add the following lines: fDefaultWorldFOV=90 fDefault1stPersonFOV=90 90 is the default FOV of most FPS games, but you can change that to whatever makes you happy How the do I install the mods I just downloaded? It is highly recommended to use a Mod Manager, There are a couple linked at the top of the thread. First however you will need to edit your Fallout4.ini to enable mods. To make it easy download this Fallout 4 Ini Editor On the second tab, titled Mods/Puglins.txt check Enable File Select, and the Check All box below it. Using NMM To isntall your mods. (Once Mod Organizer is updated that is the preffered method) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAKcAEn6hLg Could this be a problem with my load order? I'm using such-and-such mods. It's hard to diagnose a problem when you only list a couple of the bigger mods you're using. try to be specific about your mod list when asking for help. My game CTDs before I even see the loading screen! This is usually caused when a plugin file (.esp) is looking for its parent or master file (.esm) but fails, either because the master file isn't where it should be, or because it's broken. If you do not see something that should be in here please send me a PM, I will try to keep the OP up to date as often as possible. 1 Fallout 4 ini Editor This is a simple tool to help you edit your ini. There are many factors for optimizing performance on your machien but two of the major ones are reducing god rays to low, and setting shadows to medium. FPS Dynamic Shadows This mod dynamically adjusts your shadows so meant a target frame rate, it even works on high end machines in those troublesome areas. Stuttering and Memory Patch ENBoost Base version of ENB, has no visual changes, by BorisV. 2 Arbitration Some pretty good tweaks and changes to the base mechanics. also very modular. Better Combat AI Reduced Grenade Spam Increased Grenade Detection Distance Increased Survival Difficulty Damage Better Fall Damage Increased Stealth Detect Distance Longer Stealth Search Time Unbroken Stealth Light Level Increased Walk Speed (Global) Decreased Reload Speed (Global) Reduced Compass Radar Detection No Automatic Condition (broken limbs, concussion) Regeneration Molotov Cocktails burn ppl to death instead of exploding ppl to death Weapon Balance Overhaul For the most part, Fallout 4 did a pretty great job at balancing weapons. There were, however, some annoyances. Pipe weapons quickly became obsolete, the hunting rifle did pathetic damage in comparison to almost everything else, heavy weapons were weak, institute weapons did less damage than their generic counterparts, melee uniques were underwhelming, et cetera et cetera. 3 Binary Speech Checks Makes Speech checks a pass / fail event, no random chance, if you meed the charisma requirement you pass, if you don't you fail. Cell Respawn Timer Customize the duration between cell respawns, shorter or longer. Craftable Vertibird Signal Grenade Make more signal grenades, hell yes, dont wnat to use fast travel again. *can be used before brother hood quest arc, might be spoilery. Customize Legendary Enemy Spawning Make Legendary spawns more or less common. Easy Hacking Makes all terminals only have one word for hacking. Still perk locked. Easy Lockpicking Makes locks pickable from any rotation. Stikk perk locked. No Level Scaling Removes the regional level scaling. VATS Over There Increases the rang of VATS, couple options for distance. 4 Better Commando Sick of how blatantly outclassed automatic guns are by their semi-auto variants? This mod increases the multiplier on the Commando perk, effectively improving automatics without tweaking the guns themselves. This means this mod shouldn't interfere with any weapon rebalance mods you may have installed. Lone Wanderer - Perk Rebalance No Perk Level Requirements Removes the level restriction on perks, still need the needed SPECIAL however. 5 Darker Nights This mod will make the nights in the Commonwealth darker. PipBoy Shadows Makes the pipboy light cast dynamic shadows, can look a little strange in palces. WET - Water Enhancement Textures This mod offers alternative water textures for your game. 6 ReShades like SweetFX can lower performance. Stuttering and Memory Patch ENBoost Base version of ENB, has no visual changes, by BorisV. ReShade - Enhanced Wasteland Vogue ENB - Realism 7 8 9 Enhanced Blood Textures High resolution blood decals that fits the violence level of the Fallout series The Eyes of Beauty Fallout Edition Fallout Texture Overhaul Stars Updates the stars witha higher resolution texture. 10 Towbies Realistic Weapon Sounds Quieter Generator Sounds Quieter Turret Sounds 11 Armorsmith Extended This mod does three things. One, every outfit in the game can now be worn under armor pieces. Two, every hat and helmet in the game that doesn't cover your face can be worn with bandanas & gas masks. Three, every outfit and every hat & helmet in the game can have ballistic weave armor added to it. Ballistic Weave Expanded Increases the selection of clothing that can have ballistic weave added to it. Customize Power Armour and Jetpack Drain Allows you to customize the fusion core mechanic to your heart's content! Choose from a number of options ranging from 0% to 200% individually for jetpacks and power armor through the handy NMM compatible FOMOD installer. 12 Craftable Ammunition Adds a new workbench to make ammo, resource requirements are reasonable, configure how much comes from each batch. Craftable Guns and Weapons Use the chemistry station to make guns! Craftable Melee Weapons USe the chemistry station to make melee weapons! 13 Creature Followers Command console to summon a variety of creature followers. Summon Companions Tired of losing companions, or just dont want to travel to make a new one follow you? check this out. 14 Customize Legenday Enemy Spawning Tired of the Damage nerf in Survival but want that sweet sweet legendary loot? check this out. Creat your own Survival Rebalance Configure the damage buff / nerf while playing on Survival. I preffer 100MorePCDamage and 200MoreEnemyDamage, the enemies are leathal but so is the player. 15 Better Item Sorting Sorts most inventory items with a prefix of type in brackets. weapons and armor are not sorted (the names change, and can be custom) Full Dialogue Interface Gets rid of the dialog dial, and brings back a traditional dialogue system. Improved Map with Visible Roads Makes the pipboy map much more useful! keyNuker Keys (and passwords (and cards)) will no longer be shown in the inventory, instead they'll be hidden under Keyring. You can find Keyring at the bottom of the MISC tab. Modular structure allows use of this mod with any other string replacement mods, and/or languages. PipWare UI Early signs of making the UI more PC friendly, inreased item lists, and mouse scroll support. Value Per Weight Indicator for container UI Adds a Value per weight line on item stats while look at them in containers. 16 Functional Display Stands Adds display stands for Robot models, nuka cola bottles etc. Great for the collectors. Gil Evergren - Pinup Better Pictures Replaces workshop paintings with sexy yet tasteful pinups with a 50s style. Hey Thats not Junk! Takes some items out of the junk list so that you dont auto junk them, these items are typically worth way more caps if you sell them instead of junking. Homemaker - Expanded Settlements Homemaker is a mod that greatly expands on the vanilla crafting system for settlements, and adds over 1000 new, fully-balanced objects to craft, ranging from cars, to refrigerators to working street lights and everywhere in between! The mod also features a new Institute build set, with placeable snapping walls, floors, stairways and more! Improved Workshop Loghts Makes those lights you can place through workshop much brighter, very usefull for interiors. Increased Settler Population and Settlement Budget Increase settlement population to 20, 30, 40, 50, 100, 500, and 999 + Charisma. There is an optional file that removes the settlement budget (object limit) Improved Workshop Lights Makes lights from workshop items better. Mo Betta Scrap Tweaks the scrap results of a lot of items that didn't make sense, like wooden objects not giving wood? Note Racks Allows the player to put notes and other suck items on racks. NX Pro Farming Farming overhaul, hope you like collecting literal poo poo. OCDecorator - Static Loot Adds a ton of decoration options for just about every clutter item in the game. Must have for dollhouse simulation. Place Everwhere Ignore collision while building settlements, requires F4SE. F8 - toggles "Place Everywhere" mode (if you enabled toggle in config) F1 - toggles object snapping (you have to cancel current object if you have any selected, for this to work) F2 - toggle ground and surface snapping F3 - toggle workshop grid snapping F5 - toggle out-of-workshop timeout (be sure to change this one in the ini so it doesnt conflict with quick save) Power Conduits and Pylons Allows you to configure the distance of conduits and pylons, useful if you dont want a billion nodes to put lights in a house. Settlement Keywords Provides a baseline keyword framework for settlement mods, most of the good mods are already using this. Snap'n Build Stand alone workshop options, lots of walls windows floors etc. very good set. Spring Cleaning Clean up everything in a workshop area, scrap all objects (just about) does not cause cell reset bug. Stackable Concrete Foundations Allows the concrete foundations to snap stack, the author if nuts though. Working Food Planters Lets you build planters to grow your food in. Any settlement can now produce food. Wattz Powerful Generators and Water Pumps Configure how much power and water gets generated. 17 Lowered Weapons Lowers your weapons while walking around automatically. 18 Legendary Modification Allows the player to add and remove legendaries, has several options as to how easy or difficult this is to do. Simple Bug Fixes Corrects some simple bugs that were leftover from the base game. LumberingTroll fucked around with this message at 23:30 on Feb 25, 2016 |

I'm just waiting for a decoration mod, every Bethesda game gets one. They let you turn the physics off items and let you position them precisely, which is perfect for making your buildings look lived in by letting you put junk items wherever you feel. Without it the physics go wacky whenever you load into an area and all the items you painstakingly placed fall off tables and clip into the ground. The fact the game lets you put down shelving is a pretty big joke considering this is a bug that's eternally present in all their games

Ammo mod is decent. Hopefully he makes the required ingredients different for energy stuff and ballistic though. Wonder what the odds are of a DLC adding normal ammo manufacturing anyways. Was it deemed too easy in NV or something? Or is Bethesda just fartin' on the job?

I'm gearing up for another play through, this time with no level requirement on the perks becuase goddamnit Bethesda if dump all my points into strength I'm going to get all the benefits for it. I never got to experience the jetpack at all because I was done with the game before I leveled up enough to get to the point where I could make it because it was all locked behind 40 levels. edit If any of you also want to partake in this mod be sure to read the readme, there is some specific strings files you have to copy and rename otherwise you'll get a crash a moment after getting to the main menu. VV Appreciate the mods, especially a week in. Modding for Fallout 4 is going to be insane. KakerMix fucked around with this message at 03:49 on Nov 19, 2015 |

Glad to see this up! Especially glad to see a bunch of my mods up there, I'm the one who wrote the Customize Legendary Enemy Spawning, Create your own Survival Rebalance (there's a typo in your title btw), Easy Lockpicking, Craftable Guns and Weapons, Unlimited Power Core and Jetpack (which I don't think the Power Core up there has btw), No Fall Damage, and Carry Weight modifications, which allows you not only to customize your base carry weight as you would with the console, but also lets you customize the amount of carry weight you gain per point of strength. You can access all my mods, including future mods, here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/users/2177762/?tb=mods&pUp=1 In the meantime, if anyone knows how to make fomod installers let me know as I'd be super grateful.

I've been modding Bethesda's games since fuckin Morrowind, frienders. I hereby pledge all my resources to create a world where there is a boob for every mole rat, a questionable design decision for every new female article of clothing, an incredibly clashing appearance for all new items that does not in any way mesh with the existing Fallout 4 aesthetic, and a throwing out the window of the concepts of what is acceptable regarding balance!

My weapon crafting mod is a gigantic work in progress, balancing is very much a secondary concern that I'll deal with after I stop multiple guns from turning into power fists. No, seriously, the Gating Laser, the Gauss Rifle, and the Gamma Gun all really really want to be power fists and will spontaneously turn into power fists if you put them into the crafting menu. The Laser Musket and Combat Rifle just flat out don't appear. I have absolutely no idea why. Anyways, updated all my mods that have multiple .esps with FOMOD installers so they should be waaaaay easier to install now. The other mod author has no idea what he's talking about. The damage formula is defined in relation to and attached to the PC - both enemy and player damage is actually, whether enemies are legendary or not is completely irrelevant.

That is one solid as gently caress OP. I'd want to use the Easy Lockpicking and Easy Hacking mods, but I feel like they kind of invalidate taking the last perk in their respective trees. Is there a way around that or will we just have to wait for the GECK to release to make those final perks "better"/do something else? I thought taking a bobby pin from you each time you open a lock to be fair (until you get the last perk at which point a locked container is just experience by clicking it), but I have a hard time seeing something similar done for hacking. Unless it just doubles the experience from hacking or something.
