The Casualty posted:That's pretty sick. Something I learned about the 32 GTR fairly recently was that the 'all wheel drive' system wasn't actually all wheel drive at all times. It's a RWD until the car starts to lose grip on the back and then the front engages and scrabbles for traction... Pretty crazy.

All RWD based AWD Nissans and Infinitis use a similar system to this day.

That rx5/cosmo was in this thread a couple of months back. I wish old falcon coupes in Aus were as cheap as torinos in the US, there's a few for 3-4-5K.

My car search continues. A new challenger appears! I came for a sedan but I am so loving tempted. I want to get compliments on the daily too Only 140k miles, too. The only thing I don't like is that it's a salvage title (because of course something has to be wrong with it). I'd have to talk to my insurance and see what they think.

The Casualty posted:My car search continues. A new challenger appears! That's not even from the NW, where people think Subaru are made of gold. I would maybe offer $4000 of it is as clean as he says, but the salvage title hurts. https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/5318918112.html ~Edit~ After careful consideration, way too many keywords. Wouldn't touch that for half the price. Meydey fucked around with this message at 17:43 on Nov 19, 2015 |

It has the words "Salvage Title" "JDM" and "HIDs" is the ad. I would think twice.

You Am I posted:Falcon coupes are rare as hen's teeth since they rusted out pretty easily, and a lot of them were either made into Group C Touring Car replicas or Mad Max replicas. Or slammed into trees/power poles (hi Eric Bana) I know. Old cars cheaper over there because they sold a lot more of them obviously. Not only that, but two door sold a lot for any given model over there, while it was mainly 4 doors that sold the most here. Also same goes for old chry-co cars as well. So I say again, I wish falcon coupes were as cheap as torinos are in the US. Also I'll add, I wish chrysler coupes like the duster were as cheap here as they are in the US. I know well maintained or restored ones of either go for stupid high prices, just like here. But there's that many of such cars that it's easy to find a cheap project if you're willing to travel. While down here, there's sweet gently caress all cheap. I'd need a spare 16K to get myself into even a fairlane. Fo3 fucked around with this message at 19:56 on Nov 19, 2015 |

The last four seasons of Wheeler Dealers boils down to "buy cheap, classic car in America and sell it in the UK because even shipping, import, and MOT are cheaper than the UK market twice over.

I asked the guy nicely about it but I'm not going to actually go all the way to the inland empire just to look at it. Car prices in LA are weird anyway. You can find a perfectly good E36 M3 for that price and yet there's a million people actually managing to sell their JDM'd out Civics for almost the same amount of money. I talked to a guy on the phone who sold his stock Mazdaspeed6 for motherfucking $12,000.

Yeah I should've prefaced it by saying "Buy it with gasket kits in hand, drive it straight into your garage, work on it for six months and then you'll have a daily driver". Really though once you've replaced every gasket and seal you'd probably have less issues by daily driving it.
