I got a class of a specific type of boid that oughta calculate its acceleration by looking at other boids directly in front of it
here's the thing I'm trying to fix

code:

def compute_cohere(self):
       cohere = vector2d() #this is a coordinate pair that indicates change in x and y
       concern= self.flock.within(self.COHERE_RADIUS, self) 
       #a list of all other boids are within the specified radius
       for other in concern:
            offset = other.position - self.position
            cohere = #this should be a constant or something, just move in no particular direction
            if (offset).direction().dot(cohere.direction()) > 1.0: 
	    #this is meant to check for boids in like a 30 degree angle in front
	    #direction returns coordinate pair
	    #dot takes two coordinate pairs and calculates relative angle
                 offset = other.position - self.position
                 cohere = cohere + offset 
       return cohere.direction()

the if statement ain't working though
