The skills from that box were supposed to be common drops. Instead the reward box that gave them was a rare drop, with all three ranks of each three skills being a possible reward. So basically a 1/3 chance of getting something useful from that skill box. They're literally rarer than lockbox ships, and they aren't even general unlocks, you have to buy a new copy for every rank for every boff. Borticus hosed up, he knew he hosed up, and he never fixed it because he is an rear end in a top hat who didn't want to admit he hosed up.

To be fair, stark has been insane for a very long time. This is just one of his longest rants. He'll be back tomorrow, probably trying to ERP in one of the glitched zones in Risa. Just occurred to me that Cryptic could handle the Omega's pet situation like a lockbox carrier. Classify a bunch of smaller, outmoded escorts ships as frigate pets and allow access if you own the C-Store version. Would work well for the Pilot ships in particular.

But I fired back with 2 disco balls and a few seconds worth of party poppers. It was over almost as soon as it began, and I'm not sure if the scars will ever truly heal. The idea being that the way to make space combat look like actual trek in this awful game is if you deliberately build a ship to do it that way.
