Is this new game fun? I don't have a lot of experience with gaming, at least the past few years due to being broke. I'm mostly an RPG guy, and only have FO4 and Witcher for my PS4, but I've enjoyed what I've played of online multi player shooters (the first Halo was fun to just hop in and get in matches to see how you do against other people for example). Basically, I want something I can play with people online. Right now I'm considering 3 games, Black Ops 3, this has the bonus of being what everyone at work plays and they spend so much time poo poo talking each other about it it's really piqued my curiosity. There is also the new Battlefront, my only experience with this game is the one on PS2, but I thought it was super fun. Then, while not a shooter, there is Rocket League which is also really interesting and people seem to love the poo poo out of it. Either way, if I don't get Rocket League now, it's definitely a must on my list. Maybe this is a better question for the general PS4 thread, but either way, I'm still interested in a quick run down on the Black Ops III game. Is it fairly easy to get into for a new dude? Is the multi player fun? etc

I like it a lot. I bought ghosts and AW and sold them quick. This one is pretty okay to jump into l. Sometimes the connection will screw you. Just add goons to play with. I think Rocket League was or will be on sale, it's fun. Haven't played Star Wars.

Pop the pulse and communicate to team mates where the enemies are. It works great for clearing out hardpoints.

See the thing that pisses me the gently caress off about this game is that since I'm just starting and apparently literally everyone else has been playing nonstop since release and are level five million, they have all the much better guns that kill me instantly if it gently grazes me, yet I'm stuck with this stupid Kuda that takes like ten headshots to kill everyone. It's really not fair and doesn't really let anybody 'git gud' when the deck feels so stacked. I feel like I wasted $40.

Lol. I'm bad at the game too but come on man I know it's not the guns. Unlocking the first few attachments will put you at an advantage but with the current double weapon XP bonus you're talking like literally one or two matches to unlock the basics. The starting AR and SMG are arguably the best guns in each respective class. Stop loving sprinting everywhere and you will die less edit: yeah the kuda is great and pretty much your best bet for SMGs unless you wanna do the "run around everywhere and hipfire ppl" thing with the Vesper

It all depends on who you get matched with. Sometimes every gun seems viable and I do great no matter what I use and other times I feel like nothing I use does enough damage and I just die repeatedly. That's kinda the Call of Duty experience at this point.

Sometimes I'll roll around a map wrecking all in my path and feeling like a shooty mangod, more often I'll get repeatedly wrecked. Map knowledge is definitely helping me a lot more than messing with my guns, knowing how to navigate the maps and avoid areas which someone will 100% be aiming at seems to be a big turning point. Going to try to join a goon group on PS4 tonight, do people normally just jump into whichever groups are running in the BlackOps community thingy-ma-gubbin (technical term)?

We were talking about this the other night, because of a) years old lovely cod netcode and b) the fact that almost every gun in this game takes ~4 shots to kill, your best options to kill anyone in this game are a) already be firing when you see someone and b) abuse the gently caress out of aggressive play. With flinch as strong as it is, getting the first shot is important*, and standing stationary behind some piece of cover ADS just doesn't end well when someone** comes thrust jumping over that corner like a crack monkey spraying at your head. By the time you've registered that they're on your screen and you fired, you're probably already dead as far as the server is concerned. There are definitely exceptions to this rule, and posting up behind cover at long range with a good sniper/lmg/ar is fine, but if you're the type that tries to clear corners real slow like, and you feel like you're constantly losing to the idiot who is rushing you, well, you're right, you are, and you'll keep doing so unless you change the way you're playing***. In summary: Use Awareness and a pair of headphones and win every match. (*unless you flinch their loving hipfired high caliber AR up into your head and die in two shots to the loving KN god damnit) (**me) (***git gud)

Awareness is for bad players that have no game sense or can't read spawns. Do not waste a point on such a worthless perk. You can hear people coming a mile away regardless. I rarely see dead silence out side of SnD, and anyone playing SnD should already be accustomed to not hearing people. Edit: Tac mask, blast suppressor, or engineer is a much better choice. Tac mask especially; the stuns are loving bullshit. tjones fucked around with this message at 01:51 on Nov 27, 2015 |
