You drink water because you are thirsty, you drink powerade and soda because you like the taste. How people can not "like" water is beyond me. It is like not enjoying air.

I don't know if I've become a boring adult or something but I can't drink gatorade during workouts anymore. I think they must have added a significant amount more sugar or something because when you drink it and try to do aerobic workouts it forms a film of caramelized sugar in the back of your throat making it impossible to breath. I drink my water with chia seeds like a true millennial.

I did that for a few weeks, and then I remembered that most seeds have evolved to go through animal digestive tracts unscathed, so it's a lot of money for essentially no nutrients, but if it's filling enough it can help you if you're a pussy who eats unhealthy things if they feel hungry at the wrong time. It is fun though because they naturally hold water around them like a sort of membrane and have a cool speckled pattern if you look closely at them. I would just leave them wet in my water bottle, and some of them would even sprout. It was like watching science things in action. e: I mean like, if you don't chew them, since chia seeds are too small to chew without undue effort Stinky_Pete fucked around with this message at 19:19 on Nov 30, 2015 |

Chia seeds are super easy to produce. They used to be smeared on shite pottery to look like hair. They are a 'superfood' now because idiots will believe anything they read. Don't forget your goji berries, too! Do you really think we didn't do a nutrient analysis of this poo poo when it was first discovered? Hemp hearts!

I have family that all but withhold water from their kids in lieu of making them drink calorie stuff and it makes me so mad. I'll offer the kid water at a meal just because I'm getting some for my daughter and the kid drinks the whole thing and they just kind of stare at him like's crazy and then offer him an egg cream or something. Honestly if the kid wasn't a problem eater he'd be in bad shape. He's probably calorie deficient, they don't challenge his palate at all so he exists entirely on mac and cheese and grapes as far as I can tell. Was cleaning out his pockets after thanksgiving and he wouldn't eat anything but had like 15 Lindt wrappers in his pockets. Really everything to do with lovely parents raising lovely dysfunctional kids makes me upset I guess. Milennials.

If you have a family history of diabetes or a sugar-heavy diet, I straight up recommend getting annual bloodwork replete with checking fasting blood sugar. Edit: You can just eat an early dinner and then get your blood drawn the next morning before work and grab some fast food after. It's pretty easy if your doctor's office opens early enough.
