So, the Australian Infinity Nationals are rolling around once more, and after the ~wackiness~ that was last years missions, these ones are straight ITS, with one exception. The one exception is that everyone is scoring, and there are already three soggy link teams signed up. (Specialists get a +3 WIP bonus to objectives! That will certainly be comforting as their mangled corpses fall to the floor.)

I feel like if the choice is shooting your Combi-Rifle at a TAG or painting it for a Smart Missile Launcher the better choice is the latter. You're probably not going to bother painting infantry for missiles though.

Ahahahaha, I got it wrong. Specialists auto-complete objectives on a Short Action. Non-specialists auto-complete objectives on a Long Action. Pan-O players just filled their pants. As someone that ran tournaments in that timeframe, yes. It was horrible. Though, to be honest, with the way this is set up, Kum Bikers and the various Ariadnan dogs will ensure victory in even moderately skilled hands.

I got bored, and I've never seen anyone at my club use ECM vs. guided. Thought I'd do some math so I can smugly tell them which to use in what situation. Should I use ECM? Many of the TAGs in the game have a little-used rule: Electronic Countermeasures, or ECM. To use ECM requires the use of your ARO when targeted by weaponry with the 'Guided' bonus. When a Smart Missile Launcher fires, it rolls BS+6, without Line of Sight, to see if it can hit. There are no other modifiers for range or similar. This means that Guided Missiles will, often, be rolling a single dice unopposed with a target of 18. ECM removes the guided bonus of +6, bringing their BS back down to 12. Now, the question becomes, is it better, as a TAG with ECM, to Dodge at PH-9 (-6 for TAG, -3 for no LoS to a Direct Template), or deploy ECM countermeasures? Further, if you have a Hacker in your list with SHIELD-1 Protocols, any time Guided Ammunition is fired, anywhere on the table, they may use the U-Turn feature to impose a further -3 BS on the Guided roll. First, a breakdown of TAGs with ECM and their physicality. PH 18: Jotums PH 17: Marut, Cutter, Dragoes, Guija, O-Yoroi, Lizard Squad, Szalamandra, Avatar, Raicho PH 16: Seraphs, Iguana, Sphinx, Gorgos PH 15: Tikbalangs, Uhlans Next, the fun stuff. Math. To begin with, ECM values are flat. The following values are our benchmarks. ECM, no U-Turn: 45% chance to avoid damage. ECM, U-Turn: 60% chance to avoid damage. PH 18: The Heavyweight The only TAG presently in this category is the Jotums. Dodge vs. Guided, no U-Turn: 14.21% Chance for neither to succeed, 15.75% for a successful dodge. Total: 29.96% chance to avoid damage. Dodge vs. Guided, U-Turn: 21.18% chance for neither to succeed, 21.75% for a successful dodge. Total: 42.93% chance to avoid damage. Given the fact that the odds will only get worse as the PH goes down, it's safe to say, against Guided Ammunition, your ARO as a TAG should always be ECM. I think my math is right. gently caress.

I'm actually thinking of the Nomad Salyut Zond because it's shown with an extended base in all of the photos on the website and on the box. However after reading your post, when I went to measure the base that came with it just now to compare to the S4 base size it's supposed to have it matched. And when I test-fitted the parts it looks like it actually fits on the included base perfectly. Was there a reprint of the mini that comes with the new correct N3-sized base but still had the old photos on the box?

Current offenders are: Charontid (comes with a 25mm base but is S5 so no big deal) Skiavoro Paracommando LGL all sapper models Maghariba Guard (you need to make the 70mm base yourself, cut it out of HDF or something)

So after starting to put some paint on the USAriadna stuff I bought back when the box came out and picking up the stuff released for them since then I played a game with my just base coated army. Played seize the antenna against Bakunin nomads. List was pretty gimpy as I tried running with only the models released but I did use my dismounted Maverick model as a second Foxtrot Ranger. Managed to end the game with two of the Antennas held and accomplished my secret objective of Extreme Prejudice by having a Foxtrot shank one of those ODD nuns while she was down. USAriadna Ranger Force ────────────────────────────────────────────────── Group 1 9 1 2 DEVIL DOG Heavy Shotgun, Smoke Grenades + 1 K-9 Antipode / AP CCW. (39) K-9 ANTIPODE AP CCW. (23) MINUTEMAN (Marksmanship L1, X-Visor) AP Rifle, 2 Light Flamethrowers / Pistol, CCW. (29) 3 SWC | 298 Points Open with Army 5 Ended the game with only 6 models on the table. The game was a brutal slog on my end losing almost every face to face roll and all but two armor rolls. I still enjoyed it however, played much different than what I am used to with my Combined Army elite operator nightmare robot squid squadron where I am usually at a decent advantage in terms of gear and shootouts. I also noticed that Foxtrots rule and I want more of them but the two older Foxtrot models look horrible, has anyone had any success finding alternate models for use as Foxtrots? I'm also looking around for a 4x4 mat that I can use for games set on Ariadna, I love my MicroArt mat but my USA stuff looks a tad out of place on that.

Hello thread, I've just started playing - done Icestorm and a couple of intro games, is there a good read that'll tell me the obvious pitfalls to avoid (For example, my first into game I didn't have any specialists at all) ? (I've read the Op and a few pages in, but 200 pages is much to wade through) I've started HaqqIslam, and so far I like them, I've got the rules, but can't find the Sectorial lists ? As I got both the sectorial starters and so on, I'd like to give 'em a look - I know the army builder had the right limits etc for each, but is there somewhere I can actually read what they are ?
