Hangman's Alley: when I build shops in there they have to be at the west end of the site or else the settlers I assign won't actually man the stall. If I build the shop at the end with the shack on stilts, there's no problem. But there's this weird imaginary line towards the east of the site, just before where the bend to the north is, that no settler will willingly go. They show up as assigned but never actually go to the shop and man it. Same thing with guard posts, plants and brahmin troughs, they won't go to them. Anyone got any ideas for a fix? Didn't see any mods in Nexus regarding it.

Playing around with batch files for spawning bigger raids than what the game will throw. There are surprisingly few static items around settlements to use as spawn points.   Settlers vs. Gunners. (Settlers lose.)

i was curious to see how they'd done armour models/textures this time round, what with both genders being able to equip the same clothing, i wondered if they'd made 2 seperate sets of files for each thing or if they'd just had one model and texture file for both genders that morphed with body shape. there was only one way for me to test this: a skirt mod do you think I am beautiful? also for those curious they did it the latter way, what you do to one gender's clothing affects the other's.

Heads up for the OP: Quieter Generator and Turret sounds have been superseded by Quieter Settlements. I also recommend Optimized Vanilla Textures if you have more free space than free VRAM, It improves performace/lessens GPU VRAM usage, without noticeably effecting texture quality. Check out the recommended other performance-enhancing texture mods if you're still looking to squeak out some more frames and don't mind losing a little texture quality to accomplish it. The description also mentions modifying some ini settings to increase the pop-in distance. This can be accomplished more simply via the Fallout 4 Configuration Tool, which can also serve as a replacement launcher and provides a nice interface for common ini tweaks.

All of these are useful, but I've stopped using Optimized Vanilla Textures (along with the recommended LOD mod) because of extended load times. One of the newer versions might solve that problem though, and anyone running the game on an SSD probably won't notice.
