What the gently caress is the deal with the pill/rune/card voice overs now? They worked on launch, now they only work about 30% of the time and sometimes several seconds or even rooms later. There have been several patches since it has broken, and I guess since they aren't game developers they don't really give a poo poo? Either turn them on or off, but don't leave the poo poo all busted for several patches.

It's not broken, they're supposed to rarely play instead of every time. edit: Although, despite that being the intended functionality, it still might be bugged anyway if they're playing several seconds after the fact.

Okay, finally finished Speed! this morning after spending almost all of yesterday on it, jesus christ. At least they had the sense to speed Isaac up a bit, last time I tried it (Before one of the recent patches) you used to walk at normal speed which made bosses like Gemini pretty much impossible. Although even with that buff, it still comes down to luck more than anything else. Getting an overpowered build that can make mincemeat of enemies is pretty much required, I only ended up making it with a combination of Ipecac and Tech-X, which gave me super-powerful laser rings that didn't run the risk of exploding in my face.

I've not seen anyone else upset about it. I'm only upset that the VO artist doesn't read the Rules Tip card. That alone would justify it being in the game for me.

Is it me, or have they really nerfed the Slot Machine payouts? I used to be able to get a dollar about 90% of the time (As a matter of fact it was rare for it to explode without giving me a dollar), and I don't think I've seen a dollar once since I got Afterbirth.

I've seen A Dollar drop in one of my runs, so it definitely didn't get taken out. Not sure about Skatole, but I've seen it offered as a prize a few times (I just never won it)

I just finished up all my completion marks by beating Mega Satan with the Lost, with less-than-starting damage homing triple shot tech X on my last Dead Cat life. That being said, is the Guardian challenge even loving possible? Who even designed this poo poo? It isn't merely insanely difficult, that I could maybe deal with. Its more just a pray to god you get loving lucky with loads of health all the time and that your stupid punching bag doesn't walk into poo poo and get itself killed asap. I may be experiencing some rage at how unfair and unfun this challenge is compared to the rest of the game. I mean, at least with the other nerfs and dumb balance stuff that gets complained about all the time you have some agency. Guardian is 100% an awful slogfest that doesnt really challenge you in any interesting way, it's like the worst escort missions from any game ever condensed into its purest lovely form, and on purpose. e: well I beat it, but I stand by my rant above Logan 5 fucked around with this message at 05:56 on Dec 5, 2015 |

Late to the Hush chat but if you stay in a spot that dodges the tears coming out from him I'm 99% sure that the wraparound shots won't hit you either. The way they wiggle makes it look impossible but it works for me. Ultra safe strat is to just hide in a corner of course

So is there a tell at all for when Isaac's screen covering lightning bolt attack will hit corners? Because it seems to be entirely random and you'll just take damage sometimes without being able to do anything about it.

If there's enough room for a beam to be in a spot, there's probably gonna be one there.

The thing I've always gone by is that they're a checkered pattern. Get to the same corner on the opposite side from where it started and you should be safe. I've never been hit that way.

So, I just found Milk in Greed Mode with Lilith. Upon activating the Box, it also activated the Milk, only the fire rate was even higher than usual. Anyone have a clue as to what triggers this? I'm guessing the several Milk followers stack, but that doesn't explain the not getting hit part.

The corners adjacent to where it starts are safe, so say the beams start in the top left. The only guaranteed safe spots are the bottom left corner and the top right corner. If it starts in the top right, the bottom right and top left corners are safe. You can practically guarantee your chances of being in a safe zone (unless you're like super slow, like maggie with a couple speed downs slow) by trying to stay around the middle of either the left or right walls so you end up just running up or down on reaction based on the direction the beams spawn. Only reason I know this is because of bisnap. I have absolutely no idea how you're expected to figure this out on your own besides getting hit dozens of times and connecting the dots.

Okay, just tested things out. Milk is a -2 to Tears Delay when it activates, so it has the same bonus as Cancer. For some reason, Box of Friends forces one of those Milk familiars to activate prematurely (while not spawning more Milk familiars, even if you have multiples.) I'm not sure what's going on, but I guess it's because it's a familiar that activates with on hit stuff, which might cause funky things to happen when Box of Friends doubles it. Oh, and this doesn't happen if you pick up multiple Milk familiars, so it's not a problem with multiple Milk entities. Incidentally, getting hit after a BOF Milk activation will also cause an existing Milk familiar to activate, and it does stack. In fact, Milk stacks just fine with other Milk familiars, meaning that you could probably get down to Soy Milk Levels of firing if you somehow got more than one of those.

It's secret room only when not in greed mode. And since secret rooms only rarely have items in them and the pool's been padded with so much horseshit over the years, you just won't see it.

Now that I'm clearing the Hush on non "problem" characters I am finding that standing still is definitely the best way to deal with the continuum phase, but if you only have a hit or two to give(ie with Keeper or Lost) you're still hosed because you're probably going to get hit three or four times regardless. Only three characters left to go though before I've beaten every boss with everyone. Question though--do I have to beat everything with everyone on hard to get the 10000000% achievement or whatever? I ask because I refused to play Hard mode back on rebirth when the drop rate was so bad, so a few of my guys didn't have some of the bosses beat on hard past Mom's heart. But because of the hosed post-it situation I have no idea which ones some of those are. I hope only the hard wins connected with achievements/unlocks are necessary
