Well in addition I got a new, corrected FP kit. I'm just boggled that they were like that.

I'm kind of shocked they didn't fit, I mean I read the reviews and a bunch of them were from BG Escort/ZX2 owners saying how awesome it was so I figured I was in the clear. Also the whole year/make/model on the order I thought they would call if there might be an issue.

It's all good tho, it's not like I'd be losing a ton of money, and I sure as hell will be ordering parts from them when I get a Mazda 2 regardless because it seems like they have their poo poo together for newer Mazdas at least.

Glad I didn't order any for my MX6 (apparently they fit). Shipping to NZ was mental. I thought they would have been a little more understanding regarding a refund/credit.
I ended up putting an ebay short shifter for a honda in as it was only the shift lever bush that was gone. It had migrated to the outside of the lever but the others were in really good condition.

Got these from a Club Protege member, mine were destroyed and these are perfect. Thank god for the classified section of CP because no way I'd find these in this condition at the JY.

Had to get the bumper off so I could get rid of the shitbox horn.

There that little fucker is. Somebody is getting this in their Secret Santa box :ssh:

Tried this one first but the bumper wouldn't fit over it :argh:

The other one fit much better with a slimmer bracket, bumper fits over it, now I have a worthy horn that's needed in this tourist rental car driving infested area.

Do you have to hook the horns up to a relay?
Why does the light meter go from positive to negative?
Also, do you like those crates with the yellow lids? I saw them at Costco. They don't have the folding lid kind anymore.

Nikon exposure meters go that way for some reason.

I don't know why -- I've never owned a Nikon camera. But they do.

No relay needed for the horns.

That's just an effect I used on imgur for the hell of it, but if it's how Nikon does it I have no clue because Nikon is for communists and I'm no stinkin' commie.

I got the bins from Home depot quite awhile ago, but I like them because they are sturdy as hell and will probably last forever.

I have to get rid of that Yakima cargo carrier in the bottom right corner because it takes up way too much space in my shed and I don't use it enough to justify keeping it. I wish I had a garage :smith:

Do what I do...I just said screw it and keep the carrier on top of the wagon...unless a friend is borrowing it for beach trips. Even when we're not going to the beach putting the baby's extra everything (portable crib, high hair, etc...) it comes in handy even for family get togethers. And the hot girls at the bank act concerned when it's not strapped on top so I got that going for me.

So basically any little scratch and the deal is void, which obviously there is going to be some evidence of installation because i had to install the loving things before i realized they weren't going to work.

Doesn't matter at this point because Enourmo has dibs on them, but what the gently caress.

Well, they do say that it's void if "showing any signs of installation beyond what has been indicated in your pictures", so presumably they shouldn't care about that, right?

Applebees Appetizer
Jan 23, 2006

I dunno, but i wouldn't risk them using some minor wear as an excuse to nix the deal and then charge me $12 shipping again for a total of three times to send them back to me. The pics can't show in detail, but there is definitely some wear just from me installing the third link bushings because they were so drat tight and I was twisting it and moving it around trying to loosen them up. Then again that was the kit they admitted wouldn't fit on my car but whatever.

Ok, so I've narrowed the belt whine down to the alternator belt. I took the alternator off and had it tested just to make sure it wasn't a bearing and it got a clean bill of health. I also ran it for a few seconds without the belts at all because for a second i thought it might be the timing belt but it's not (thank god) and I also ran it without the a/c PS belt and it still whined. The water pump spins fine so it has to be the belt itself.

The alternator/starter guy told me to loosen the belt more, so I did to the point I can see it moving under acceleration and it's still whining, I'm starting to think that maybe it's just a lovely quality belt that's causing the issue, is this possible? Should I try a better quality belt?

I'm at a loss at this point, but no way I'm gonna leave it as is because it sounds like poo poo and it's driving me crazy.

Picked up a set of free Miata steelies from a local Miata forum dude. Also gonna grab a set of tires from another guy for 50 bucks. These cars did not come stock with 13" wheels so i don't know how they got on it, but they will be gone soon. Gonna clean these up and paint them black, not sure if i should go flat or satin/semi gloss.

As you can see they are the same as the spare. Why somebody put 13" wheels and poo poo tires on it are beyond me but yadda yadda PO bullshit

This is the cheap belt. The cords were exposed on one side so i wonder if that's what was causing the noise. Never again will i buy cheap belts.

Also while troubleshooting the belt issue, I noticed a clunking sound coming from inside the TB cover, almost sounded like a rod knock so i can't be having that. Off cam the cover and I discovered this hole that was hidden by the WP pulley. Was obviously cause by the previous poo poo belt that was stretched to hell or probably was the wrong belt to begin with.

Then I found this nice little noise making nugget floating around inside the cover. This could have ben a very bad day waiting to happen :ohdear:

Time for the shitbox horn to be completely liberated from the car.

Somebody is getting this from their secret santa :ssh:

My old car (Altima) had the completely wrong size tires on it when I got it. Right wheels, but wrong tires (taller/wider, would rub when hitting bumps and at full lock).

It also had hilariously tiny rotors on it. Best I could figure is they were from a Sentra? (same bolt pattern...) The pads went past the edge of the rotors by nearly an inch. Explained why I got such bad brake fade just bringing it to a stop from highway speeds.

Hmm, I think maybe it depends on options because with a GIS there seems to be both 13" and 14". Maybe my spare is wrong and not the wheels.

I know the 323s came with 13". Why they treated the 323 in the US like the lowly Mazda shitbox is beyond me, we should have got the GT and GTX :colbert:

But I think i know what you're referring to, was it a MS3 some guy did that to?

The Momo is just temporary btw, it's on there until I get the wheel i bought from the guy that sold me the mirrors. It's one of the three B5 variants, ranging from 90hp to 118hp.
The gauges are just an accessory, like oil pressure and other misc stuff.
Those bumpers are rare I think.
