Yeah I'd just like to say I also didn't find anything wrong with Matt being more vocal on the podcast, it was a good, entertaining episode this week (as it is just about every week). Also I just assumed that because there were so many events talked about that Matt was directly a part of this week (TGA, Hotel Explodorama, Max, etc.), that was why he was more vocal.

Had me laughing at work and to be honest if you hadn't had mentioned it I would have never noticed you were drinking. You were just there and participating and that's always cool beans and Plague was a thing and it was a fun podcast. I don't think anyone is saying "YO MATT GET BLITZED EVERYTIME!" because i'd imagine that'd start to feel like the crowd going "DANCE MONKEY! DANCE!" after awhile which would almost certainly kill ANY interest you had in the podcast. I really, really enjoyed the way the sleepy cabin podcast was done, there was no real subjects, we just were off to the races, it felt so natural and fun, and the time flew by. No, it's not that I was more or less vocal, but I was being really negative on a lot of stuff, and just super loud in specific moments and yelling way more.

I'd prefer to just move on honestly, I feel embarrassed about it enough as it is. Anyway, if none of you already guessed it, we will be coming to MAGFest in February for the 3rd year in a row! I'm personally really, really excited for this, as MAGFest is literally the con highlight of the year for me, but this year will be the best ever. Planning BIG things for our panel (hopefully more than 6 people come) and we'll try to organize a live let's play of a Sonic game!

I agree, I listen to that group of Melvins too and there's something to be said about letting poo poo just meander about from thing to thing naturally. I take it Woolie isn't open to suggestions about loosening up the structure of the podcast at all? Worse comes to worse i'm pretty sure you know enough internet D-listers that every once in a great while you could call someone up on skype and you two just bullshit for an hour about whatever and print that into an auxiliary to the podcast. Probably don't need the extra stuff with the workload you've already got but anything to make it not feel like a slog might be good.

Oh, I missed Ippo discussion before. The ADTRW thread is a bit too negative, but gently caress if the manga didn't get a lot worse when George started treading water with the main characters. It just recently started having better fights - and the last one had a disappointing ending.

Ippo is my favorite manga so yeah the way that last fight ending was just over the top bull crap. Granted Ippo is always been over the top but I think this takes over Woli's over the top bullshit.

Ruggington posted:give me it in tags because I refuse to believe this Ok so regarding the last chapter of the fight in ippo, so spoilers if you don't wanna read the black bar Taka was on the verge of losing. I mean to the point he couldn't put weight on his foot so his punches were doing nothing to Bison.. So what's his solution? Using his toe to grip the floor and literally using that to gain momentum and throw punches on his toe that somehow doesn't let him lose power on his punches. Hell the illustration is so ridiculous he basically looks like a spinning top throwing multiple punches over and over again.

I'm not sure what I lost my poo poo more at during the latest Devil's Third video on Vessel. The bats attacking right after Matt & Liam discussed the likelihood of them showing up, Liam almost killing that guy with a rocket launcher while sliding, or the fact that it took this long for the game to shoehorn in a CoD breach moment. This playthrough just continues to entertain immensely.

TheRealestMatt posted:As I've stated here before, sometimes I feel like the Podcast is just not for me. I don't have a whole lot of interest in talking about a vast majority of things like game politics, sales numbers, and similar minutiae. I don't like being locked in for 3 sometimes 4 hours and just talk about the same type of subjects over and over, week in, and week out. Not to say we haven't had some awesome moments on it, but they come so infrequently. I'm really glad the podcast is as successful as it is, and people enjoy it as much as they do, and that's mostly because Woolie works really hard to make it go. I'm just talking about personal preference, and I'd much rather be playing a game or editing a video and just being a bit more creative than talking about the same type of subjects in an ordered sequence. Have you ever tried to spice it up with random stuff like a Wheel of News? Just spin a giant wheel to determine what topic is next. I like the news segment, but I wouldn't mind at all if the "What'cha been playing" segment could be cut out and melded more into the rest of the podcast like the Beastcast. Especially when Pat's up, he's doing the same games over and over again and those can free up a good half-hour.

You guys' take on whahappa is fine but I'm always way more interested in what you guys occupy yourselves with all week. That's my favorite part of the Bombcast as well.

I also prefer the Weekly updates from the bombcast, but mostly because the news segment is so non-existent and outside of a couple moments (like Capcom re-re-re-releasing RE1), it's way too dry. But I like the news segment for the friendcast because they bounce off each topic so well and talk off their actual job experience far better than anyone else. Woolie can cut down on the number of dockets, though. Like, any and all rumor-types.
