Vital Lacerda is working on a new version of Vinhos apparently, will come with both the original set of rules and a revised version, which I like the sound of since the one time I played it it felt a little fiddlier than it needed to be. https://boardeveryday.com/2015/12/09/vinhos-gets-deluxe-treatment/

I mean, I guess you could call the south the traitors, but I couldn't find out where the zombies were, and instead of hoarding food we just shot cannons at each other? Pretty complex though, I have no idea how it became so popular among a more casual crowd. Anyway, played as the Union, next time I'll be the South see if maybe they get zombies or something. Love it.

Just tell us how to play the loving game. *starts watching an episode of Fawlty Towers* "What the gently caress? this is like 20 minutes long, and they still never get around to teaching the rules of a boardgame to me???"

I heard you guys like boardgame storage porn: I was a bit bummed that the delay caused Orleans to get in right before my baby, leaving no time to play it, but it's been nice having something to keep my hands busy while watching her sleep and making sure she doesn't wake her mom up.

I printed it on photo paper, ran that through my Xyron Creative Station to make it into sticker paper, then ran that through my Silhouette Portrait to do all the cutting, which has really allowed me to go nuts with my game pimping. The result is a little thick, but has that nice shiny finish that you want from a sticker. I'll get to the goods eventually, but it's not a high priority because they're kinda useless. Poopy Palpy posted:I heard you guys like boardgame storage porn: Not bad. I'm working on my own insert for Orleans right now. How big did you make the dividers for the player start tokens? That's the part I'm on currently. I'm doing my a bit differently. I have the main insert divided in half. Going to put one layer of stuff one the right side (tiles, coins, and start tokens) and then the bags will go on top of that. Then do 2 layers on the left side for the rest. I was planning to make little chipboard trays for the start player tokens, so I could just hand them to each player. I have some sticker paper that I'm going to print the player color on and then wrap the tray in that. I also left enough room in the tech tile area for the 10 promo/mini expansion tiles; just in case.

It's functional, you can do it, but it's absolutely not a worthwhile 2p experience except for training purposes and even then it doesn't really give you a sense of what the game will actually be like with 4-5. Go with Tash-Kalar or something instead.

Yeah, I got the update. I still have that messed up gene in my DNA that makes me think (irrationally) that if it can be sold in a store there is no reason I shouldn't have mine already. <self-loathing>First world problems. (There is no need to put and 'end' clause on the loathing.)

I've mostly freed myself from it's grip. I support very specific creators these days. My pile of un-played Kickstarted shame is large and there are some real turds in there. Yeah, I'm looking at YOU Kingdom of Loathing. Yeah, I'm looking at YOU 'Up Front!' that I backed out of literally in the waning moments. I'm looking at YOU Guilds of Cadwallon and more or less anything CMON does these days. I have met some great people though in the process and become reacquainted with my money.

Going to zombie-quote a bit here and resurrect an old discussion, my apologies. Gutter Owl posted:There are two ways to make a market row more interesting than "who gets the better topdecks." The game itself isn't too bad, but it seems there's only a few good strategies mostly on pumping up your income without raising your score (and incurring penalties) until the endgame where you go all out, and the random quests and hidden objectives don't seem weighted enough to make much of a difference. Where a tile is in the cost line can be make or break, so maxing income is just better for giving you options.
