Almost makes me wish the NSF could take the Rothschild method for handling such complaints, with a standing offer to refund the complainant's share of the cost of any objectionable projects. Although, considering my contribution to the entire NSF budget and all their projects for 2015 was about $3, Anytime someone complains about government program X wasting money on something they can't see the value in my default is to check its funding and see if it's greater than the $8.5 Trillion that the Pentagon literally just lost, it's rare that the program costs more. Then I usually just say "If you think that's bad, wait till you hear about how much money the pentagon lost" and see what their response is.

When your opponent is saying things like "our moral superiors on the left", they're not interested in nuanced discussion about why cherry-picked anecdotes are worthless.

Uh everyone knows Obama took over the PentaGRAM by firing every General who didn't swear to HIM that they would freely fire upon American citizens when ordered to do so. So it's no wonder all that money went "missing" and did you hear it costs seven,000,000,000 A DAY for 0bama to go on all his golf vacations AWAY from his wife?

Haha, I did actually see one of those "A LIST OF ALL THE FINE OUTSTANDING MILITARY OFFICERS OBAMA FIRED BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T AGREE WITH HIM!" followed by a list of over 50 names with ranks running from Admirals/Generals down to Lieutenants. I responded with research on just the first 10, all of which either simply retired or were fired because of real misconduct (multiple DUIs, running underground gambling rings, running a ship aground, just being bad at their jobs) and said "that's just the first 10, clearly this list isn't believable but I can research more if you want". I don't think I ever got a response. It wasn't even hard to research, just googling the names almost always brought up plenty of news articles on them. Unfortunately I think this was over a year ago so I can't find it.
