I am up for an invite, Patrat in game as well. On another note they did actually succeed in making this game fun again! That or it is just innately fun murdering newbies, I dropped with my DDC Atlas after not playing for over a year, drunk, finished the match with four kills and still alive.

As a returning semi-bitter veteran poking in once more, I thought I'd share some old but fun designs with the thread. The first one was called 'surprising' in mumble, which I'm hoping is a good thing: Derpjenner. Highlights: LPL and a PPC, using an XL255 and full endo,ferro,doubles.Made when ECM was king and skirmish Was It, its not meant to lagtank. Its an escort for heavier mechs and a lighthunter with very large butt blasting ability. I found the LPL better for close-in snapshooting but it works just as well with larges. A regular PPC is managable if you watch the minimum, mostly its there to disable ECM. There's a spider build that I find fun I could use some critique on. I can't help but feel it could use some help. The obvious candidate is Mpulses for mediums, but I wasn't finding myself needing six jets. Or That left arm at all.

That jenner is awful. jenners f's are xl350's with 6 lasers probably the best jenner that isnt an oxide but if you want an IS light get a 5 MPL firestarter s, probably a better robot

The banshee build in the OP is really quite spectacular, i keep getting over a thousand damage with it. I think i got missed in the invites so if someone wants to throw one to Moisty In game that would be swell.

Triple AC5 is criminally under rated. Yeah it's only 15 damage, but it's 15 damage with a massive range, great refire rate and practically zero heat. With 8 tons of ammo you can do over a thousand damage before running dry. Toss in a couple extra lasers or something and you're golden. So good.

If you're just adding a laser or tweeking armor or something fine, but get it done quick so everyone else isn't waiting for your indecisive rear end to rebuild your mech every round.

Had quite a surprise when MWO popped up on Steam. I have not played since January 2013, when almost all of WoL simply up and left. I had written off the game completely, but curiosity got the best of me so I reinstalled and... the game is good????  Interesting to see what's changed- everything's almost unrecognizable. But man it's actually fun now. Took a while to adjust- all of my mech loadouts were the optimal builds at the time I quit, not so much anymore- fun to try out the new clan mechs though and everything. I think I'll stick around. How active, exactly, are goon groups nowadays? Is it like the halcyon days of closed beta/early open where the Mumble was always packed and there were multiple full groups every night?

Popped in and played two matches tonight. I was in Tier 4 so I doubt it was very representative, but it was... interesting. Lots of missile spam, lots of people standing still with critted CT's. I dropped in with a LPL storm crow and had two fairly average games with 600+ damage and two or three kills, one win, one loss. Overall it was fun. Nothing really earth shattering, but it was nice to play again. The user interface is still completely balls though. I may join the mumble server tomorrow and play some more.

Is the tiering system pretty much representative of KDR or is it basically a progression bar? I keep trying to make it go down but it stays stuck on Tier 4.
