Uh... does Lao's heart to hearts occupy and complete any NLA frontiernav hexes? If so, that might be a problem. Like a "I have to loving scrap every last bit of work I've done from the last week" kind of problem.

Can someone tell me where/how to get the Close Comrades affinity mission? I am having a heck of a time finding it. Does it have a weird prerequisite or something? Same goes for BFFs.

Louisgod posted:Thanks for the advice on the survey percentage, I've been trying to do the hearts to hearts and tyrant battles but am still only level 12 so I'm pretty limited. That, and some areas are barred off due to high level enemies guarding them. One other piece of advice is a lot of areas that look impossible to get into because of high level enemies aren't actually impossible. It's a little easier after level 15-20 but you can use your party as meat shields and as long as you yourself don't die, you can outrun a lot of things. I used this trick to get past a bunch of the prone in Primordia for example, and dance around the top of their base before peace-ing out At lv 23 this also got me past some lv 40s bugs into a weird cave in Noctilum that had a probe site, 3 treasures, 100 collectibles, and a non-aggro lv 77(?) tyrant, which was kinda rad.

I don't fully understand the "boosts damage in ranged combos" effect for the stream edge art. Can anyone explain it?

Cake Attack posted:I don't fully understand the "boosts damage in ranged combos" effect for the stream edge art. Can anyone explain it? When you use a ranged art after it (ranged arts are yellow), then activate Stream Edge, the damage will be boosted. You can tell you got the effect if the damage is in a spiky bubble instead of a regular one. The timing is fairly forgiving too. Same thing for melee combos. The first hit isn't considered part of it, the 2nd+ are. And if you use any other kind of art the combo is broken.

Man it feels like the game just constantly unfolds and opens up as you do side content. I just got ANOTHER xeno race to join up, with several sidequests, both normal and simple! There is just so much poo poo that's only there if you go looking for it! Also for other people like me who became Skell addicted, be sure to get out of it and explore on foot again every now and then. Places can look a lot different from down below, it's cool. Also I just hit the 100 hour mark. Chapter 8, 38.76% world survey. This game is bananas huge. Infinity Gaia fucked around with this message at 03:14 on Dec 13, 2015 |

Man there are so many quests where I wonder if I did the right thing at the end, so many mistakes. I felt legitimate regret for a while after I realized there were some deaths I could've prevented by my actions. And all of this is basically "side" story. Honestly the way I play the game, the main quests are such a tiny fraction of my time spent playing they barely register. It's super weird.

I'm just running around that beach with 35-38 Prone on it at the moment and it feels so slow. Also I really hope I'm in for a twist that connects this to 1 despite everything. The Nopon will not stop referencing things from 1 let alone the fact Telethia are a thing. It feels really random otherwise.

I always took that sort of thing from games like Xenoblade and Fallout 4 coming from the main quest/story having the most overhead to keep it on-task and managed from start to finish. The sidequest ones probably just come from "do whatever, slap it in after a quick glance" due to quantity, so they wind up infinitely more varied and interesting.

Where the hell is HB after you do his mission? I've been trying to get that dude back in the party and can't find him at all. The lack of an easy way to re-add party members is definitely my biggest complaint about the game so far, though that's really only for the fourth slot since Elma and Irina will probably never leave my party.
