Thanks Terrible Robot. I have a few more. I kind of bought this truck with my
heart and not my head (not the best idea I know). Growing up our family had
a 1970 4X4 GMC Suburban that was the same color as this one (ocher paint code 511)
and me and my Dad and at other times our whole family went camping all over the southwest in it.
So lots of good memories in a truck a lot like this one.
I learned to drive on the dirt roads of the Mojave Desert in that Suburban when I was 13 or 14.

I drove this truck for about 2 weeks after I bought it, then found out it had
a cracked head when it started running real lovely. So I am in the process
of putting a pair of Edelbrock E-Street Alum heads on it. See pic below

Here is a pic of the SPID. It was ordered with a reasonable amount of options.

Lots of wrenching to get this far.

And it leaks a lot of oil from the transfer case. That's my next project.

It's got the 4 on the floor. SM465 I think is the transmission. Mated to a NP205
transfer case. Which leaks prodigiously. And yeah that tree really raked the side of your truck. I'm sure it will buff out.

It is a respray. But resprayed in the original color of course. I would like to do the top portion of the cab
in white. That White/Ocher combination always looks really good when I see it on other trucks.

Thanks. Yeah the tach still works too. Not sure how accurate it is but it's close enough for a 44 year old pick up truck.

Here I just sharpened the photo to pop out the details on the taillight. Ho-hum, more of an exercise in post-processing, but I kinda like it.

That's a neat fuckin car. Hard to believe toyota is actually capable of building something interesting, but just outright refuses.

Probably because the NA market has a hard enough time recognizing blatantly obvious badge engineered cars, you stick a bunch of model specific badges on everything here and nobody will ever say they've even seen a Nissan.

I'm jonsing so hard for the finale of season 2. I think i've posted most of the vehicles on that show in the craigslist gold thread. It's filmed about 2 hours away from me, and all of the cars have either been listed for sale or run through auctions here. dirt cheap too.

Thanks! It's my first time ever owning a "nice" vehicle.
I've had a lovely $400 Volvo 240, Miata project car, 92 Lincoln Towncar (actually that was a pretty nice vehicle), 94 Caravan, '00 Ranger, and currently an '02 Sport trac.
I think I've done my penance. It's about time to enjoy something nice.

The PO actually added all the right things to this truck. MAX tow package, Aeroforce pillar gauge, rear air bags, LED interior lights, Power locking tailgate, soft tonneau cover, improved intake piping, aftermarket intercooler, RX condensation catch can kit, new plugs, and an aftermarket door detent with extra stop. I think I may have found the diamond in the rough of used vehicles.
It doesn't hurt that the PO races cars, and sent me home with some of his home made breakfast sausages and cured bacon.

The turbo lag is pretty :saddowns: though.

There really shouldn't be any turbo lag. did he have the truck tuned to work with the intercooler mods?

The 2012 ecoboost i had got into it almost immediately. just a little "whoosh" sound and suddenly it was making power. It was almost problematic, because you would be crusing and give it a little more throttle and the turbos would spool and it would break traction.

Also, the blowed up ecoboost i have in my garage was either killed by a combination of a "to-the-limit" tune, and an oiled air filter, or blocked coolant channels in the oil cooler. Most of the engine spit out purple coolant but the oil cooler let loose some green, I think that may be a problem. So, uhh, don't do dumb stuff to it.

Powershift is right, my '15 ecoboost is pretty much on boost immediately. Something isn't quite right with that trucks tune if it's not spooled right away.
