Yeah, neonics are no joke if they do what some studies have claimed. I haven't kept up on it, but when I volunteered at the ROM we had scientists visit and they thought it was ironclad.

I left them pretty much all their honey to get them through the winter, wrapped them in tarpaper, vented them properly and most importantly they did not get attacked by bears even once fingers crossed. I really hope they make it, they're the friendliest bees I've ever had, only one sting all year.

There aren't a lot of apiaries around here and most are used for the blueberry fields in this area. Always wanted to set up a rooftop garden and just have a small hive to make some honey every so often. Also I find some of the beekeeping tech pretty interesting.
