Hmm... they changed Rapid Fire to increase RoF within bursts, rather than burst delay.

It also has some hilarious multiplier on the P06 now, pushing it up the highest rof of any gun ever I think.

I'm not sure if that makes it worth using on burst guns or not, I'd have to look more closely at the numbers. In general I suspect they did this to encourage accuracy, and penalize missed or hasty shots with the various burst guns. Between that and the hipfire m8 nerf, I've had a (few) less rage inducing m8 shotgun blasts up close.

Burst guns are a little odd, they're one gun type I favor silencers on, because I find two bursts are really common, so it does little to their kill times. Burst ARs though, I go back and forth on High Caliber. Still not sure if it's worth it there.

I would honestly love to see the return of the Stopping Power/Juggernaut, this COD BS has been going on so long now there are probably a good amount of players that never had to deal with it in the first place. I never saw the problem with Juggernaut anyway. It basically just made you take one more bullet to kill in 99% of situations AND it hard countered Stopping Power so that you'd be on equal ground again. Plus it'd totally shut down the quickscoping crowd since they can't rely the (mostly nonexistent in BLOPS 3, to be fair) autoaim to get them a 1 shot kill.

Bring back Eavesdropper while we're at it :getin:

I agree on the silencers thing.

This would make the Dredge kick rear end if it's decent enough.

What absolutely cracks me up about the SP/Jug situation is we're now roughly at where Juggernaut-with-no-stopping-power would be in CoD4/MW2, which people claimed they absolutely hated.

Hardcore is now closest in lethality to those two games.

Also the 4+ shot kill average on a ton of guns is a major, major, major reason people rage about hitmarkers and bad connections. one more reason Ghosts did guns right

The other funny thing is SP/Jug/Ghost was a real and valid choice to be made, by removing SP/Jug, that made Ghost et al hilariously strong, and lead to the dominance of Quickdraw/Stalker/Dexterity/Toughness/Focus/etc style perks that gave you an edge in gunfights (along with creating awful newbie traps for new players who didn't understand why they would constantly lose 'fair' gunfights).

In this game they made it insanely hard to be fully stealthy by nerfing silencers, and requiring something like 5 perks to be (mostly) invisible. Not really an elegant solution.

The problem with Jug/Stopping Power was never the numbers themselves, it's the fact that you are more or less obligated to take one or the other. Now granted yes the perk selection in this one means you're more or less obligated to take nothing but a handful of perks from the wider selection, but it's a "six of one, half a dozen of the other" situation.

Choosing between stealth, health, or damage isn't a problem, it's good design. Now other lovely perks like danger close bring in that spot making life miserable, less so, but we never really had a chance to see that iterated on before iw was ousted.

That ship probably sailed with pick 10 though, so now we're left with a minefield of newbie traps and a bunch of picks to accomplish what a handful did before.

Aside from the fact that there are, y'know, a dozen other perks and they're all made useless by the fact that your only real choice is "stealth, health and damage".

Good design isn't immediately making player choice irrelevant because you've made certain choices clearly better than others, that's literally the opposite in fact.

ok did they re-nerf rolling thunder?

Called 2 in during a combine game. Result: 1 kill, 1 dart destroyed.

Then had 2 called on me today. Result: Maybe 1 kill, didn't kill me when I was standing out in the open as a big red jet icon slammed onto my head.

what is going on it went from murder machine to stupid bad scorestreak again in like a week.

E: another RT used on me on combine. 1 total death.

Maybe they fixed it after patches or something, but that game, MW3, and BO2 all had horrendous netcode that made me hate life. I dunno about jetpacks and rayguns, I didn't play that one much, though I didn't hear a lot of compliments about it.

Pubbies seem to have figured out the big explodey things are bad, so they run for cover now. Between that and the awkward spawn protection timing, it's easy to go back to getting 1-2 kills with it.

I played with hellstorm a bunch last night, its definitely buffed, but despite getting a good number of triples, I still don't think its really worth it. 800 points for 75 points worth of kills and limited impact on map control? Meh. I can get that number of kills or more from a Dart (and sometimes quite a few more), and I don't even like the Dart.

So this happened last night while I was loving around with the Drakon. Exodus is a very special map because the A spawn won't flip if you don't push it!

Canadian internet is fundamentally worse than every other civilized country on earth not named Australia, unless you live in a condo in Toronto with fiber optic.

Though to be fair my speed is kind of soft capped and hits 50 frequently. I think this is less a feature and more incompetence but I'll take it.

Yeah I'm not really accurate enough with the Pharo to get 1-burst kills at anything more than short range so I feel pretty comfortable dropping a silencer on that one

What exactly gets reset when you prestige? Everything you used an unlocked token on right? But let's say I have a maxed out KN44, since you don't need to unlock that gun, will I get to keep all my camo's and attachments?

Attachments stay unlocked unless you prestige the weapon itself.

It's nice because you can max out the starting guns, and just slap two attachments on them the second you prestige to fill the remaining two points on the starting classes.

None of your camos or attachments are reset, you get them all back whenever you re-unlock the associated weapon or specialist or whatever.

I've had that for a long time. If you didn't unlock certain specialists, you can't check out their gear, so...

I have the same issues as everyone where the kill cam will show me basically doing a dance in his sights for 20 seconds before I even see him...but that's kind of usual territory...and I know, just don't get into fair gunfights.

The thing that bothers me with this one which I hadn't seen previously are lag spikes. Like I'll have a 30-50ms ping, and if I watch it (or I can definitely tell in game stuttering wise), it'll jump to 500ms and then back down...massively annoying. Could be my connection but I've heard lots of others complain similarly.

Yep, happens to me all the time, most notably when I run into the enemy team. I'll tap the button upon dying and see I just had a redspike over 400ms (that's as high as the meter goes).

Also poo poo seems to get weird in the second round where I'll do great in the first round and then in the second nobody fuckiing dies. I don't know if it's the lag compensation algorithm getting all hosed up or what.

I've seen that lag spike happen a few times, but it's pretty rare. Related are 4 bar lobbies that aren't, and 3 bar opponents that skip around on your screen. Thankfully a relatively rare occurrence in our evening games so far.

Are you using Ghost Dead Silence and Hard Wired? If not you're vulnerable to UAVs, Awareness, and Sixth Sense. Actually you're still vulnerable to Awareness even with DS if they're using good headphones and its quietish.

And of course, experience, or just plain bad luck. If I see the radar is clear near me, I'll do 180 checks because I expect a backspawn or someone sneaking up on me.
