Thank gently caress for that. Maybe the US will actually be fun to play now that there's not endless event spam.

(Hopefully this will also apply to the pre-ACW events)

- Fixed map crash when you start Victoria 2 for the first time.

And there I was thinking it was something wrong with something on my end which caused that first time round.

Paradox are releasing a patch for a game from 2010 because they didn't feel it was quite right. Great company.

Probably just closing V2 off before announcing V3 than just to fix it for the sake of fixing it.

I hope V3 comes with a stellaris converter that lets you start in the "machine age" like that cool primitive planet.

This plan will backfire, as V2 was already an almost perfect game. There's now no need for a V3. Preorder precancelled.

On the other hand, this does seem likely to be a "Last week/day of work: Lets patch Vicky 2!" thing, more spontaneous/giving devs an opportunity to not stagnate in their own projects for a bit. Either way, I can't wait, for the crisis stuff alone.

I'm was on my way to daycare when podcat asked me.. 'Can we make a v2 patch ?' I'm like yeah, but on your sparetime.. Aka, they do it during friday beer..

Jesus Christ I'm so happy the crisis fizzling bug is finally going to be fixed. I like Victoria 2 a lot, but it's just not right if it doesn't end with the world in flames and all those confident empires of progress lying in ruins.

Well, poo poo. If I'd known they were going to push a patch I would have asked them to change the top produced/imported/exported goods rankings to order by total value rather than raw units. Too late now?

Yeah they're one of the handful of companies that really does care, or at least provides a convincing approximation of caring. I've not played much V2 in awhile so it'll be neat to go back to it with a few last improvements and tweaks :unsmith:

I love Charlie from Busted!
You know how you can stop available decisions from popping up a notification in EU4 if you don't wanna take it? Yeah, that would be amazing in V2. Might be too much effort though :( Say I don't wanna enact Trail of Tears, e.g., but am bombarded with a lit up icon, stopping me from noticing when another decision's available.

Also the form Yugoslavia diplomatically decision's broken. If you sphere every requisite country then they all get the option to take the decision too, suddenly freeing themselves from your sphere and instantly annexing all your other sphered countries. And since Yugoslavia now exists, you can no longer take the decision yourself. (The one to do it militarily is fine, if memory serves.)

Oh, and some way to expand naval bases easily would be great. You have to hunt them down on the map at the moment and that's extremely tedious, even with the naval map mode. And it quickly becomes not worthy of the effort if you start colonising Oceania. A page in the ledger to expand them from there would be perfect...

A button to upgrade every railroad/port/fort in your empire would be incredibly useful. Like the one that lets you upgrade all your factories.

Just in case you don't know, but shift key helps with this somewhat. It doesn't do it nationwide but it'll upgrade every railroad/fort in the selected state. But yeah I agree a nationwide button would make life a breeze.

Yeah shift is very useful, but when you're in charge of say, Russia, or the USA, nationwide would make a world of difference.

No joke. This more than almost any other face of the game is what I'm excited about. Opens up so much more replay value. I just hope that when a legendary tech project drops, it scales to your culture's level and doesn't end up taking 4,213 months to complete.

Hey man, at least that poo poo is contiguous. Try managing the British Empire some time. :shepicide:

On that note, nationwide upgrades would be super handy for naval bases too.

What else? The population density map mode is sort of useless. And also not a population density map mode, but there's no fixing that. It'd be more useful, I think, if it was on a fixed (not relative), logarithmic scale with... a dozen? Twenty? Discrete steps. The way it is now you've got a handful of tiny red stars lost in an indeterminate sea of green.

Something like this, maybe? Greens are a bit close together.
