A slap on the wrist to be sure, but that's all that it required. We're all friends here after all, in spite of the opinions of a few folks who seem to want to go to war with each other just like the Republicans have been.

News reports say 4 people accessed data.

Only one has been fired.

The audit posted above is from the Deputy Director's logs, who still is employed.

If the patch has been breached then I do think access should be restored, but I can also see a justifiable reason for still holding back based on the Deputy Director is still employed.

Sure, four people accessed the data, and they probably should have known better. But really the only person I'm interested in punishing is the leader who told them to do that and definitely should have known better. I don't want subordinates to be punished for doing what they're told to do, unless it involves truly criminal behavior.

As of a few hours ago the Sanders campaign was refusing to participate in any independent audits from the DNC or the Clinton campaign. They are essentially saying we already took care of it trust us, and give us back our stuff.

Considering how fast that stuff got shared in the logs I wouldn't be surprised if it's all over the place in USB drives and etc by now.

Interesting, well that's certainly guilty behavior. It's unfortunate because it really wouldn't make a lick of difference in the grand scheme of things, and it's not like Sanders would ever condone this sort of behavior. It's entirely down to campaign staffers getting their personal egos involved.

Agreed. I will never get why they got rid of Dean, nor why so many at the top of the party hierarchy were against him getting the position in the first place. You have virtually no effect on policy as chairman of the DNC, and it is a career dead-end for the most part, yet Dean seemed happy to use his position to serve Democratic interests generally while keeping his mouth shut. You could hardly ask for a better chair of the DNC.

But nah, better put in someone from the worst state in the Union, so she can use that position to right every perceived wrong ever done to her ever ever, while losing election after election.

To really drive home how bad the DNC (and apparently Hilary's press secartary are loving up) Hilary was already dominating she loses nothing by just washing her hands of this. Bernie is not going to win. It does 2 things though

1) Regardless of the actual facts a lot of Debbie is shilling for Hillary is really starting to spread. Hillary is already viewed as shady (the wall 9/11 poo poo during the last debate and her immediately getting busted on it did not help that) This will push this narrative and as we saw with Perry and Newt when they attacked Romney on Bain Capital that poo poo sticks

2) Bernie is basically a test on both Socialism and groups being able to work within the Democratic party. Now you might say these groups are naive childish whatever the point being that this was a change to get a bit of the 50% of that population in the US that literally never votes and it's imploding. Also you kinda need Bernie to sorta pull Hillary left (again as seen by her wall street 9/11 comments) if Bernie flames out too quickly she's going to start going rightward (whether or not this makes her an rear end I don't really care the point is it's just good politics) and the left in the Democratic party continues to be irrelevant because if centrists can still pull elections there's no reason to shift.

I mean you've got Bernie supporters saying that Hillary is worse than Republicans. They're wrong, they're irrational, and some of them are just loving babies, but if they vote for Hillary in the general I don't give a poo poo, and neither should you.

The point is that there is no upside. There is no one on the fence about voting for Hillary, in either the primaries nor in the general, who is going to decide to support her because of the way her campaign is reacting to this. She's not winning a single extra vote by doing this, and generally when you're trying to succeed at a thing, you only do things that make success more likely, not less.
