Especially when it's mostly inexplicable replacements of O's with Q's and G's with C's, rather than borders out of place or missing countries.

But that doesn't mean I don't want to know what the heck the "Bact Sed" is supposed to mean, or why the Mediterranean Sea is just labeled "Sea". And nothing really explains how you get ALEPEAUAN out of Azerbaijan.

But I can just not post the rest of the globe if no one is really that interested.

The thing that I just don't understand is the size of the type. Here's Russia, with basically nothing to put in it since there aren't any labeled rivers or cities, and it warrants only a tiny RUSSIA, while just south of it is a CHINA in tall letters, making it the largest country name (by type size) by far on the entire globe.

To be fair though, that's one way to make it completely clear where this thing was made.

The longer a command line, the more distributed is the "blame".

Somebody in the top say "I want farmers to move to a cooperative system, make it so!".
People in the middle turn that into "Make so this town farmers destroy their granary and put all the seeds in the same granary"
Then on the bottom somebody ask some tugs "Go and destroy this town granaries".

How censorship works in china?
Nobody really ban anything. These on the top sometimes show discomfort about things.
These in the middle try to guest work what these on the top dislike.
These on the bottom (authors) try to predict what the censors are going to dislike and self-censor themselves to avoid having to write something, then having to remove it and write something else.

On the real world negligence and evilness are hard to tell from each other because how organizations work is already pretty stupid to begin first.

China keeps an eye on people they think may require them to "ban" something, and then go around to put them all in prison around any time when that would become an issue. No actual need to censor anything because everyone who would need to be censored is in jail and everyone not in jail got the message. Of course that's all second hand information so it may be inaccurate, but a random google search will show tons of those examples even ignoring the possible "exception and not the rule" scenarios like the Tiananmen Square anniversary.

One of the three most inscrutable things on this globe (Along with SHAMVA and one thing I've yet to show you). It's the only thing so marked in Canada. But what is it supposed to be, really? There's no way to get Quebec, Newfoundland or Labrador from that mess.

EDIT: I mean the only thing that makes sense is that someone without knowledge of the Roman alphabet was literally typing these in by hand, copying from a picture of a globe, rather than the real thing, and just didn't know that those "c"s were supposed to be "e"s or the those "T"s are supposed to be "I"s. But how do you get "Schefenbe" out of that?

To judge by the location I bet it's some weird corruption of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schefferville, although that doesn't exactly explain why you'd ever put somewhere like that on a map at that scale

As much as I wish that was true, that's just a reflection of the light. You can't see it easily but there is a second Angola label in that blotchy area which can just be made out in the first pic.

We don't need to label Portugal, but we'll add an extra Angola label to make sure everyone knows Cabinda exists!
