Yeah, I watched it last night on Amazon and the dialog was whisper quiet while the special effects were at 11. It was nominated for Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.

Nolan claimed that was intentional but I don't know why any filmmaker would want to distract the audience by drawing their attention to the mix.

I watched it on a tiny Vizio with built in speakers so it was nothing noticeable, heard everything at a normal level.

Ryoshi posted:Is this hilarious? It looks hilarious from what little I've learned about it through Internet osmosis. For me, I had just heard "It's about a guy so strong that he beats enemies in One Punch and is depressed", and I knew I had to see it. Not disappointed. I'm going to recommend Dinosaur 13 on Netflix. It's a documentary about a big story from around my home town in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It tells of the discovery of "Sue", the largest, and most complete T-Rex ever discovered, and the ensuing, absurd legal battle over who owns it. It's got some nice shots of the Black Hills and prairie, and it's kind of an outrageous legal story in general.

Dinosaur 13 was alright, I just binged watched Jessica Jones, its marvel, which i normally avoid, but I loved it. It's on netflix. I watched one punch man as well but the episodes were listed in reverse order and I accidentally watched the last one first, oh well, now I have to find the manga somewhere... I was going to avoid it, I couldn't see how the concept could be made good but it was pretty good.

Bill Burr's animated show "F is for Family" is legit. The idea is that it's the 70's and the head of the family melts down every episode about something that is a big deal to him. It helps that the main character is voiced by Bill Burr so if you're a fan you're in for a double-ride.

Some streaming services are pumping out D grade animations like it's going out of style so wait for others to recommend them.

Yeah, he's supposed to be a prominent character in season 2 but I don't think they've announced a series of his own yet. If they are going to do one they'll probably wait until DD S2 finishes to announce it.

Also highly recommending F is for Family, really funny and the writing is excellent. It's the most genuine portrayal of a family I've seen in a long time. I'm not sure why there's so much Daredevil hate, I though it was good. What's the beef?

Daredevil had incredible casting and just bizarrely weak pacing and writing. Like who the hell thought the priest episode was worth a solid hour? Anyone watching a tv show about Daredevil of all freaking superheroes is going to have endured that whole "should I kill this guy? I mean, killing is wrong, but this guy is SUPER MEAN" debate in literally every other piece of superhero media in the past three decades. It added nothing new to the characters or the debate itself and was just an hour of handwringing over something that was a foregone conclusion anyway.
