It's a mixed bag, some of them are worthless, some are great. Raver Dave vs Luskan back in the beta testing days was wonderful, both for the content and the smack talk surrounding it.

I have come to discourse on the profound inequities of the American political system.

I'm betting the surprise is that either Grey gets a carrier kill or he sinks a whole bunch of Japanese battleships.

I went through most of the AAR where the Japanese player takes over from someone else who totally mismanaged the campaign in mid 1942 and totally changes the momentum for a couple of months the other day. It's pretty readable because it's all screenshots and not text-dumps. This one, to be precise: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3549450

There's a strategic view in game, yeah. This LP could certainly benefit from the occasional doodles scribbled on a map in addition to the action shots, like where's the KB and what's the plan for the invasion bonus happy time?

We being the sinking of transports early.

A sweep of Johore Baru does not go well as most of the attacking planes end up damaged.

Singapore is attacked again – this time on the AI's orders rather than my own – at least we do some damage today!

Georgetown is the other main target.

We get attacked by wave after wave of plane.

This is the value of Kautan – it dawns in all the allied bombers – that's three less annoyances to deal with!

The defences at Hong Kong begin to crumble.

This was one of those odd days where all the action is focused on Malaya.

I see Kavieng is in the box. Rabaul next?

Well, well - 1 Buffalo damage 14 Nates. That must be a record. Probably some of it damaged by AA?

And no Blenheims touched by 14 Nates. OK, they did have an escort.

That's because you're sweeping at 1,000 feet - well in range of AA, and allowing the AI's CAP to dive on your sweeping fighters. Try sweeping next turn at 15k or higher. Also, Nates aren't the ideal sweeping plane. If you don't have any Zeroes that can sweep, use your Oscars IIbs.

The Dutch are back!

We pick off an enemy transport.

Who thought this was a good use of time, fuel and ordnance?

Hong Kong falls to our forces! Thousands of prisoners are taken and the main British city in the Far East is ours!

We then lose a lot of men as a large Chinese force takes Ichang.

This disaster is compounded when the commander, rather than falling back east to friendly positions, orders his men to retreat south west into the arms of another massive Chinese force!

The enemy go after our battleships – thankfully, we have planes there to protect them.

The afternoon strike never even sees the ships.

The Ryujo goes hunting again.

Good and bad in China – the Ichang debacle can be swept under the rug of the capture of Hong Kong! Yay Hong Kong! We may have over doubled our army losses in one turn, but we gained 800 points in real terms today!

We continue to suffer high plane losses. Our fighters never seem to want to follow their escort orders.

Shoot them all down!

Hmm, maybe I should reduce my CAP to increase my escorts. I should check this.

Not at Kuantan anyway.

Our forces on the ground are advancing again.

Some of our Zero's finally prove how good they are.

We pick off a ship full of Auzzie reinforcements. Either Rabaul or Port Moresby is now slightly less well defended.

The late war planes can do it, it just requires planning for it. Like the Randy(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Ki-102.). Really, if a Japanese player can get to the later war with good research, especially if PDU is on (allows for more freedom upgrading squadrons, otherwise the Japanese have tons of squads for just historical planes) they can keep the allies to just night bombing. And even that can be countered. Basically the Japanese can, if they focus on it, have crazy rates of plane production which might be limited by pilots more than anything.

We arrive at Rabaul – let us hope we can take the base with a small force!

We see lots of small raids today.

Hate! Hate! Hate!

We obliterate a British base force.

We take another city.

The rest of our Ichang force is obliterated. This has been a major disaster.

I could have done without losing 6,000 men in China, but not really much going on today – go eat some Turkey. (Or whatever it is you weird Americans eat today, having used up your turkey on an inconsequential holiday a few weeks ago. )
