I think height and weight are pretty much the only things Imperial gets used for in most cases

I haven't really done any traveling that wasn't part of an organize tour trip. I'd really love to sometime. Now that I'm FINALLY done with school I can hopefully save up some money and do that. The problem is that I don't want to go alone, but none of my friends would go with me. I wanna see Europe. Never been there.

Never been there. Yay school is done. Also solo travel can be very nerve wracking, and honestly I think requires a bit more planning than travelling with others, but it can lead to some amazing experiences. You never have to compromise on what you want to do, after all.

Poison Mushroom posted:gently caress ALL Y'ALL. We have the same opinion on Skyfall but opposite outcomes. It's not that fun of a ride, but Skyfall fooled me the first time I watched it into thinking it was really good cinema when really it was just flashy and shallow. On the opposite end, the Pierce Brosnan films have the opposite affect. The first time you watch them you think they're horrible drivel, but the more you watch them (on cable, really) you realize how entertaining they really are. My top 3 bond films are probably 1. Casino Royale 2. Die Another Day 3. Gold I'm sure the Connery movies are good but I'm just not ever gonna watch them, sorry dad

I didn't know engineers also had a dumb separation between two temperature scales that feasibly measure the same thing.

Kashuno posted:jw Keane what do people use rankine for? A lot of engineering work and set ups, especially in America are designed around the imperial system, so Rankine is used for such systems. Most younger engineers, myself included, would try to work with metric if we were designing from scratch, but often enough in retrofitting/modification of existing designs it can be more straightforward and introduce less room for error to just work in imperial throughout, and in such a case Rankine would typically see use.

Skyfalls biggest problem is that none of the (pretty great) sequences ties together coherently at all. You could cut out almost all of the China trip from the first half of the movie and lose nothing from the eventual plot. Also Javier Bardem was a boring villain. Hot Takes.
