ASK ME ABOUT HOW SCOTLAND'S PROPOSED TRANS LEGISLATION IS DIVISIVE AS HELL BECAUSE IT IS SO SWEEPING THAT IT COULD BE POTENTIALLY ABUSED AT A TIME WHERE THE LACK OF SAFETY FOR WOMEN HAS BEEN SO GLARING

Armorcast poo poo owns. They just upscaled Epic models without adding any detail and they're early 90s as gently caress. I remember seeing those Warhounds and Reavers at conventions every year from this one painting service and I always thought they were the coolest thing. They've got nothing on Forgeworld, detail-wise, but they're charmingly 90s.

Yeah, those armorcast titans are basically :perfect:

Nothing wrong with armorcast. It's a quality product.

I think this guy is probably a fan.

I sold my Warhound a decade ago for strip club money, but the box is still in my collection.

At the time, there was an arms race of epic proportions.
I owned a Warhound, a Shadowsword, and a Baneblade.
One buddy owned a pair of Warhounds and a Reaver.
Another owned THREE of the Phantom Titans.
Good times :)

I actually quite like this.

Its deeply stupid - but it's silly in a kind of charming doofy way rather than in a creepy or terribly executed way. Unless that's like, a real person skull or something, that would be very creepy.

The tape skull looks much higher crowned, though that could be a side effect of the angle.

only if you use it as the last coat, shade with a wash, then go over that and it's all good

Hey now that's interesting. I'll try it out. Got some of the super bright GW coloured inks still.

Renfield

I think the original Inks where meant to used in two ways - at least, as I remember it from the time - as a 'glaze' right out of the pot, to give a shiny finish, and a wash- watered down to, well, be a wash - I'll post some before/after pics of the infinity minis I'm doing, when I sober up :P

(edit) for now - the guy on the left has no wash on the armor - the other two do, in Coat d'Arms black, as a top coat (so far, gonna do more over that)- it's not shiny at all (so far - None of these are anywhere near finished)

Need to go through and highlight, do the faces, details etc and mop up mistakes - but even so they look ok on the table top - middle guys loin cloth needs some attention at least !

Standing up, slightly earlier in painting

Fun Shoe
I was at a friend's place and saw a bright red box on top of his cabinet of anime figurines. I took a closer look and it was a 90's Khorne Berzerkers box?? Opened it up and it's full of oldish Ork models, mostly random infantry but also a motorbike and a couple of hero-looking ones. Most notable are a bunch of huge solid metal models. Also a 1996 decal sheet for the berzerkers, and a space marine right arm/shoulderpad.

So it turned out another friend had given him the box to give to me but he forgot, so it sat there for a couple of years until I noticed it by chance. I'll take photos of the more interesting ones later.

Nah its not the same, the inks were made by a different company

Closest equivalent painting wise is the Windsor & Newton stuff but its still not quite the same

I've still got an original pot and I treasure it
