Little poo poo yells at mom for buying WWE 2K15 instead of 2K16.

Would be taking the Xbox to Goodwill the next day if my kid talked to me like that.

Except that mom is a dumb bitch thinking last year's poo poo is worth anything to lil homey.

Remember this slight, young one. Years from now when you dump the old crone at some shithole nursing home a smile will creep across your face and, in an unguarded moment, you'll say to yourself "who's out of stock now, mother?!"

It is pretty stupid of the parents to just go "Well, we know he wants 2K16, but that's out of stock, so let's get 2K15! Just as good. He'll never notice." It's the hateful tone and facial expression of his reaction that would set me off, not the fact that he was disappointed. You can tell from mom's tone that she doesn't speak to the kids with respect, either, so no surprise kid picked that up too.

I don't play WWE games but I have heard that 2k16 is FAR superior to the 2k15 version. I wouldn't throw a fit but I would be disappointing to get a bad version of a video game series.

Throwing a fit like this kid did is lovely but I'd probably give a gift card for the value of the game if it really was that hard to find in stock. Intentionally giving them the wrong thing is kind of saying, "Hey I knew exactly what you wanted for Christmas but gently caress you."

Especially since it's a similar but (according to other posters here) inferior version of the same thing, which xokes off as assuming the kid is too stupid to know the difference.

My cousin got one, so naturally everyone in the family got a turn on it. Once you figure out how to balance right, you're solid.

Meanwhile my scumbag uncle bought his family a quadcopter for the family gift, and promptly put it into a tree at the very top. We had to cut the tree down to get it out, which then broke one of the rotors.

Today was a good day.

a guy in front of me was standing on one when I was in line at a store. He was doing pretty precise little movements and told me it took him 20 minutes to figure it out.

It looked fun and I am jealous of him to this day.

I think they're basically the same technology as Segways, but smaller and without the handlebars: lean forward and it drives forward, put more pressure on one side to make it turn. They're kinda like bicycles in that riding them is entirely an exercise in not panicking; bicycles basically stay upright on their own as they go forward without the rider needing to do anything, it's just a matter of not freaking out when it starts tilting and rocking back and forth until you fall.

The big problem with them is probably that stepping on or off will gently caress up the balance, so if you're not careful it'll suddenly move and an accidental shift in body weight could cause a chain reaction until it slips right out from under you. Likewise, someone who panics when it starts moving will just make it fly around until they fall off or crash.

That's the big problem, it compounds any reflexive movement to avoid something, and you have no other method of stability. It's only a matter of time before someone drives themselves in front of a bus with some jerky motion to avoid something.

A 15 year old kid already did that in London although I think he fell off the pavement in front of the bus and got run over and died. I don't think you can buy them here in the UK now, at least the larger retailers have taken them off the shelves.

They've been deemed illegal for use on public roads here in Denmark, and that's probably a good idea.

Maplins had huge displays of them as of last week. There was a big recall because the cheap lovely lithium batteries were going bang, and the authorities have been falling over themselves (heh) to ban their use in parks etc (they're already illegal both on the road and on pavement), so basically people are just going to be restricted to using them indoors, which should at least lead to lots more content for this thread.

Only tangentially related but mopeds aren't allowed on streets here unless they can keep up with traffic. This does not stop people from riding their moped in the street and loving up traffic. This does not stop retards from taking their moped on the freeway in flip-flops with no helmet on. They always get outraged when the cops stop them and tell them to get the gently caress back home.
