Wow I didnt expect the silver discount on high tier ships. May just be enough to get me to buy a Zao. The in-game events look pretty nice. The online store is pretty darn disappointing though.

I just noticed the emden mission, this really begs the question, why did naval ships have that brass/white arrangement on their military ships? (i thought its a US thing, but this is a german ship)

A friend of mine who spent some time studying the WW1-era Royal Navy said that there were standing regulations to use like 25% of their ammunition in gunnery practice on long trips across the empire, but some captains would toss the allotted portion of shells and powder overboard because shooting would dirty up the exterior of the ship and was hard to clean while underway.

I'll very likely pick up the Polish DD, but for gently caress's sake, they could've made the more expensive package more palatable by including more of the 'new' flags. I also finally put some of my ship gold to use and bought a discounted Atlanta.

The Pizza polish boat is basically a pre-nerf Kiev with better torpedoes. Its a very good boat, though I probably won't buy it, I don't care much for another T7 boat as I have too many already, and its useless for retraining. If it could retrain UK captains or something I'd consider it, but it can't, so gently caress it. Do the missions for the Emden. Its a terrible boat, but selling it nets you a million and a quarterish in credits and you get a free port slot for unlocking it. Also you get 500k credits for the first step and 2k free xp for the final step. Not bad.

There is a coop mission after you unlock the Emden that gives 3x captain experience, since its a premium boat stick your cruiser captain for some of that sweet experience before selling the boat

I liked the Dresden for what little I played it, and I'm sure I'll like the Emden. Also pretty sure I'll have double the average damage in it on NA. So, just got stuck in a 7v7 match in my Amagi, with a T10 CV on both teams. They got a Midway. We got a Hakuryu - with WARBEASTY. Incidentally, WARBEASTY's profile is apparently no longer viewable, but I am unsure why.

Since the last patch I get like ~10 fps when there is a lot going on, especially DD smoke. Is there any particular graphic setting I can turn down that is the bottleneck? Much to the delight of WARBEASTY, you can now have your profile hidden from public searches. Maybe he will unblock it if he ever hits that coveted 40% winrate.

Incidentally, Part 2 of the Challenge was easy as hell. Managed to blow through it in three games. Now to set people on fire.

How can you only have 12k average damage in the Atago over 145 battles? From limited personal experience and keeping an ear to the ground: Konigsberg is great, Nuremberg is ok, Admiral Hipster, Roon, Hinderberg very solid. I liked the tier IV and V Russian DDs, and the Kiev is still awesome. Ognevoi was a bit of a grind.

Torpedoes are short ranged but you are a gunboat. Kill every other DD that stupid enough to be seen by you, annoy the hell of enemy CAs and BBs.

Ok, Yamato vs Montana - is the current pubbie consensus correct that the Yamato is the way to go cause of the better pen and heal ? I have a ton of free xp sitting around and I want to invest in a t10 ship, I have played most stuff to 7-8 during alpha an on supertest, but I'm kinda undecided about where to go from here. But I like BBs and guns that go booom.

He bitches and moans about how the guns are shorter-ranged than the Atago's or other T8s, but since they're 152mm they'll get the boost in range from the skill which would actually end up bringing it in line. I take two months off, first battle back and my team is hugging the map edge trying to outsnipe Nagatos, while my New Mexico gets absolutely thundertrashed by an Atlanta and a Byylzcy... Polish destroyer trying to get the guns inside stock range. It's like nothing has changed.

Montana has squishy armor and poo poo secondaries. Iowa has been nerfed hard and US superior anti air isn't as usefull as it used to now that carriers are less common and threatening. Decided to do a random quick match in my Nicholas before I went to bed. But publords aside, the thing is a great escort and has enough range that you can hang back with the big boys and still contribute by starting nasty fires and defending against DDs.
