Well gently caress this loving hosed Earth. I want to drink to his memory but I just finished my bottle of Bushmills earlier today. RIP Lemmy, you'll be sorely missed.

Worth posting this in case some people dont know it. Another band Lemmy was in, he played guitar and vocals. More straight up rock and roll. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktvtSSiYVdU

At the news of his death, metalheads around the globe turned their heads toward the sky and screamed. They were not screams of grief, but rather they were making a warning to the spirits that Lemmy was about enter their realm.

Totally bummed about this. I was never hugely into metal and the really heavy stuff ... definitely a few bands here and there, but for the most part my tastes lie elsewhere. However, ever since seeing Motorhead on The Young Ones as a kid back in the 80s they became one of my all time favourites. Really blood sad. Rest in peace, motherfucker.

R.I.P. in peace, Lemmy. Pourin' JD out for you. At least we'll never have to worry about anyone getting the idea to try to "bring back" or "continue" Motorhead because nobody can take his place.

Not to interrupt Lemmy chat, but Fleshgod Apocalypse just dropped a new track. I know a lot of people don't like the orchestra/classical route they have taken but I kind of dig it anyway. The last album, Labyrinth was pretty awesome, as was Agony. First impression of this track is a mixed one but I think I will like it after a few listens. Doesn't seem as dense/ferocious/bombastic as other stuff, but that's probably because they put the drums a little lower in the mix and balanced some things out a bit more. Definitely looking forward to the new album anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXOucG8rM5k

I first saw Motörhead when I turned up late to a motley crue concert. I hadn't really listened to them before that outside of the ace of spades. I got there as they were finishing killed by death. I walked in from the side entrance and just saw him standing there yelling upwards into the microphone. I was like "haha jeez let it go old man just retire already!" Then motley Crüe came out and vince Neil showed me what "Just retire already" should be. That's when I got into Motörhead and they were my favourite metal band since.

I'll just copy paste my post from the metal-archives.com forum about this. I'm calmed down a bit since I posted on the last page. Just finished drinking my self drunk as I watched The Wörld Is Ours Vol. 2: Anyplace Crazy as Anywhere Else on DVD, so excuse me for drunk posting. I remember from the concert clips on that DVD that Lemmy would yell at the end of the shows "remember us". That's what we all need to do. He may be dead, but his name is immortal. It's our job to keep his and Motörhead's alive. It's our job to make sure every new generation of fans of heavy metal, hard rock, punk rock and raw rock 'n' roll knows who he was and why he was so important to us. Make him immortal. Make his name last forever. It's been ages since I broke down crying. This really hit me hard typing this.

Did some stuff last night: "Tonight, a titanic hole was left in the world. Lemmy Kilmister, the physical embodiment of Rock n' Roll, died from a bout with cancer as aggressive as would be expected of a lifestyle as insane as his finally catching up to him. Lemmy was a great musician and a hell of a guy, and Motorhead stayed strong right until the end. I'm glad I was able to see them live earlier this year. He was at least able to get one more album out before he finally gave up the ghost. The world is less whole now, but at least Oderus and Dio have a bassist for their superband in Hell. 2015 just wouldn't go quietly. Here's to a better 2016. Rest in Peace, you iron horse. We'll meet again soon enough." I never got to see GWAR before Brockie died, but luckily I was able to see Lemmy in September. I might have seen him smile at another piece I did back then. Cheers. Takes No Damage posted:I can't decide if it's good or bad to go out so quickly after being diagnosed Odds are that he had a good idea what was going on since they said he was in such bad shape over the past year, he just didn't want to go find out/live out life on chemo, etc. The diagnosis probably happened because he couldn't not be taken to a hospital at that point. He just wanted to keep on doing what he loved and screw whatever happened
