For mother gently caress's sake, we might as well have closed this week if we were going to let half of engineering and software take off till next year. There is no one in the office with the clearance to build Bills of Material. All week. So I've pretty much had to sit here with my thumb up my rear end all day.

I did nursing home work and it was always the men and women who gave no fucks about "old" that were hale and hearty up until their last couple of days. The bed ridden ones usually gave up on being anything other than "old" before their 70's. Dont wait to die, LIVE. And that's how you are still doing crazy poo poo in the 80's - staying active also defends against stuff like dementia. Much of the reason that people deteriorate rapidly in retirement is they stop doing things - the mind and body actually doesn't like that at all. Oh and of course staying active does tip the balance to dropping off the branch without the horrible lingering. That said, I can top flakeloaf depressingly too easily with what I saw in old age homes. Especially the Dementia ward. Sometimes the best of us can have horrid lingering ends and.... *shudder*. Horrific doesnt even begin to describe it.

Cat B (Pippin) has pancreatitis He was throwing up most of yesterday, didn't eat at all today and was very lethargic. Girlfriend brought him in cuz she's on winter break and they ran blood work and all that and we're both stressed to the max cuz we can't afford pet bills since we just did the Christmas gifting thing. On the bright side, the last time we brought him in they made us put him on a diet (and rightly so [he was 21 pounds]) and he's lost 3 pounds in about as many months, so that's nice.

A day late but that is how things go these days. We have two kids, 3 1/2 year old and 1 1/2 year old. She drives a '05 Mazda 6 and I have an E36 M3 coupe. Little one is still in rear facing car seat but is pretty much grown out now and will be replaced shortly. We have gotten along fine so far. Packing for a few days is a chore when carrying crap like strollers/pack&plays so my advice is don't get a fricking "travel system" because those strollers are MASSIVE. We have all fit in the BMW before out of necessity and the rear facing car seat was the only gripe because it required moving the front seat up quite a bit. With both kids in front facing seats it will be no big deal at all. We are looking to replace her car with a bigger family hauler in the next ~6 months since we are considering adding a 3rd to the brood. Personally I am sold on a Ford Flex Ecoboost, but she hates the styling which I am hoping she will get over once she drives one. Otherwise it will be a Honda Odyssey for us. All other SUVs are too drat expensive and the "cross-over/mid-size SUV" like the Honda Pilot are still too small to do anything other than fit two adults and a few small children. You can't fit anything else in them.

Ice storm aftermath: Bit more damage out of frame too. One of the trees is going to have to come down and a big branch is going to come down whenever it feels like. Fortunately only the fence suffered any damage and I'll just need some of the top tubes to fix it (assuming the big branch doesn't take it out before I can remove it.) That big upright Y branch was embedded 1.5-2 feet into the ground which was kinda nifty. Now to figure out how to get rid of the wood I'm not going to keep to burn when it dries out. Power was out for about 10 hours but fortunately it was right around freezing so the house only got down to 55*F or so. Fridge/freezer just barely managed to keep the heat out long enough to not ruin any food. I ordered a generator (inverter style) so I don't have to deal with that again. Everywhere around here is going to sold out of any generator worth buying for a while I think. Darchangel posted:Pull the batteries and look at their model number - I bet that they can be had generically. Even Batteries+ is cheaper than APC (and they should have an application on their website to look up what batteries your UPS uses, come to think of it.) My company basically shuts down from christmas eve to the first weekday after new years. Only christmas eve, christmas, and new years are actual company holidays so no guarantee of time off but it usually happens. Got home from the in-laws to find a soaking kitchen floor, and soaking theater furniture under it. Not gonna foot that bill, called home insurance. So far $17k in damage estimate, and climbing by the minute. Thanks previous owners and your loving half rear end dishwasher install. On the plus side, get to leave -28 degree Grande Prairie and road trip down to Vancouver tomorrow in my new winter beater, Cadillac CTS4 with performance brakes/engine/suspension package and snow tires. Luckily the PO sent the maintenance report before I did a trans fluid swap and filter. It was done 30,000km ago.

I've applied for 26 city jobs this year since Oil and Gas is in the shitter so that option is out the window and frankly I'd like a pension, I've not even got a call back on a single one of them. Also, since he hasn't smoked since Thanksgiving, shouldn't he be pretty close to being safe just not doing anything and just peeing in the cup like a non-smoker at this point? Or does it take longer than 30 days to get those dumb traces out of the system? I've always drank quite a bit prior to a piss test, just so I'd be sure to be able to fill the dumb bottle, and I never had a 'dilute' result. Maybe do Gatorade or something plus the multi-vitamin instead of just water? Oh and yea, they have used a temp sensing strip on the cup every time in my memory, and the last one was almost 5 years ago now.
