Welp, a sheer coincidence of my GF having to drive her mother back home (almost 3 hours one way) and a Craigslist post for a town in the same area resulted in this: Cleocatra aka Cleo aka Miss Cleo She's constantly moving, that's about as non-blurry as she gets. The other cat mostly doesn't care about her, but my word, our dog (dachshund) is obsessed with her, and not always in a good way. He'll follow her around, maybe lick her from time to time...and frequently snorf her entire ear in his mouth...and then sometimes plays a little rough, and at least twice we've caught him trying to "mount" her. Hopefully he'll get the idea that that is NOT ok. (I tried to get pictures of new kitty and dog together, but it's like they sense when the camera is about to take a picture and make it come out crappy.)

There's a fatal flaw in that plan; You're stuck with the puppy there until they wake up.

Quick update on the Butterfront/Chili's crazy house o' fosters. Finn and Rey are continuing to do quite well. They're gonna be up for adoption this coming Saturday, which means they'll be returned to the MDSCPA! They're so delightfully plucky. Finn's favorite thing to do is climb all the way up on to my shoulder while I'm standing. I've never seen a kitten do this, it's pretty amazing. We'll try to get a video of it before we bring him back. We got them with the order that they needed socialization as they were hissy and squirmy. It didn't take long for them to warm up to us, they've turned into awesome little lapkittypurrboxes. Butterscotch is still doing very well, and as we're putting the other kittens up for adoption, it is 100% time for us to make a decision as to what we are going to do with him. We will decide on Friday or Saturday as to whether or not his forever home will be with us, and will of course let you all know once the decision has been made. His weight is continuing to remain stable at 26 pounds which is awesome, and he's moving around a lot more and we're hearing a lot less cracking when he walks. So yeah, sit tight until Saturday for the decision. If he does move on, we will be sure to find him a good place with an owner who understands the importance of updating internet weirdos with pictures and Butterstories. Until then, enjoy a Butterloaf: And a Butterspread: I took the spread picture while we were playing Fallout 4 together. He's the best wasteland companion.

Please keep Butterscotch! Not just because I want to see more pictures, but because it sounds like you're doing a really good job getting his weight down. Either way, thank you for sharing this fat cat odyssey.

If we adopt him out we'd only do so if we thought that his new forever home would be better than us at managing his weight. As awesome as Butterscotch is, there's a reason why he got this fat and that reason is because he is CONSTANTLY whining for food. The upside is that while he tries his best to murder you by getting in front of your feet and mowling when he's hungry, he's kind of hard to miss so no tripping yet. He looks so much like my parents' old cat, Rose. He was a fat blond blob with the most awesome personality. He had a chirpy little voice, and loved to play fetch with the caps from milk jugs, and begged my dad for scraps while he cooked. He was a good catte.
